A Freedom Caucus founding member, DeSantis reportedly spoke with three current members of the caucus who are threatening a government shutdown on Wednesday. The call lasted about 30 minutes and he told Reps. Chip Roy (R-TX), Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Bob Good (R-VA) by phone, “I got your back. Keep fighting,” Politico reported.

I just read Josh Marshall’s article tonight. I was motivated to send him an email, and feel strongly enough about it to share a portion of it with the general membership. What follows is what I wrote.
" You getting all angsty about Biden’s age and worrying about it and coming back to it – you’re the problem. You need to grow up. I mean this not in an intemperate or judgmental spirit but in one of kindness and compassion. "
Hey, I’m 78 years old. I consider this paragraph that you wrote to be a personal insult. And you rub it in by saying that you offer it in kindness and compassion. What Bullshit!!! You might as well say that Big Brother really wants what is best for you.
Four years ago, you were supporting Harris or Klobuchar or some other progressive and you wrote a few articles dumping on Biden. I, by way of contrast, realized from the get-go that Biden was the only Democrat who could win. I never told you to “grow up”.
To say that Biden’s age is not an issue puts you against some 70% of poll respondents. But on TPM, if you think it might be, even just in a tactical sense, you are treated as if your opinion is juvenile.

Seems to me that anyone who votes GOP is voting for our form of government to change to an oligarchy. It’s bad enough now with the Corporations and the 1% running things, but the GOP still thinks that throwing in a little anarchy will help their constituents.

This shutdown is totally irresponsible. If the Freedom Caucus wants to accomplish its goals, they should try to win more elections. Anyone who supports their effort here is also totally irresponsible and isn’t qualified to be President.
