In a debate last night with former McCain adviser Douglas Holtz-Eakin, influential Democrat John Podesta described the GOP plan for the permanent extension of President Bush’s tax cuts for wealthy people as “TARP”: Tax Assistance for Rich People.Dems have taken a shine to it and are circulating it to reporters. As they hunt for an effective and accurate way to frame the debate on tax cuts, they’ll probably refer to the GOP’s TARP plan now and again.
