She thinks she’s cute and hot.
She’s not.
Her maturity level sure looks like a 13 y.o’s.

" Schumer Says He’ll Ask For Unanimous Consent To Hold Vote To Increase Debt Limit"
Fine. But then WALK AWAY. End it. Don’t raise it. Let the GQP suffer the consequences and let the fucking imbecile American public suffer until they wake the fuck up. It’s long past time the sleepwalking be ended.
" Sinema Goes To The White House"
Which is just handing her what she wants…looking equal to the POTUS, looking like she’s a high-rolling heavy-hitter who goes toe to toe with POTUS and even stands up to him and tells him “no” because she stands on “principles” blah blah blah. The only appropriate response to her and Manchin is ostracizing them. Stop taking their calls. Stop inviting them to meetings. Don’t fucking talk to them in the hallways. have a stock answer in response to every single press inquiry about them like “They’ve been bought to do this to us and I’m done with them.” Stop stop stop.
Sneakers! To the White House! As a teenager in the eighties, I could see my mom persuading me to wear that dress (not in pink) but neither she nor I would have suggested sneakers.
That’s just not the outfit of a serious person who is on their way to make hard choices and fight for their principles
Every time the progressive caucus can get someone to listen they list off what they’re fighting for. It’s the Corporate Owned Whore wing that is just objecting without saying what they want. They just get a lot more attention from our corporate owned whore media, who are owned by the same people and frame everything in their terms.
Seems to me like an excellent opportunity to waive the filibuster.
Way to have the absolutely wrong take on the issue.
If the US defaults on its debt, the world economy will crash, and the US will no longer be an economic or military leader in the world.
The dollar will no longer be the world’s reserve currency, and a Depression will follow that will make the 1930s seem like a Sunday School picnic.
Stop letting your anger do your thinking.
So give her what she wants. If she’ll help move things along, I’m fine with letting her feel important.
Sadly, TPM seems to have made gloom their driving force. The leading stories are almost 100% doom predictors. Bummer.
That’s not how redistricting works, but thanks for pointing out that Republicans, Actually, Are Bad.
I’m sorry, but ‘it’ll be hard’ is a pathetic excuse to not move towards raising the debt limit through reconciliation. What is the actual reason? WHY would it be so hard? And even if it actually is hard, WHAT OTHER CHOICE DO YOU HAVE? We’re going to let the US default because it’s too much work and may cut into their vacations? WTF?
It’s far from over. The moderates forced this week’s vote on the bipartisan bill after agreeing previously that both bills would pass together. That’s why the progressives are pissed, and rightfully so. the only bill that has to pass this week is the funding bill. The bipartisan bill can wait until the reconciliation bill is ready in a couple of weeks. So yes, the Thursday vote failing will be a good development as it checkmates the moderates’ end-run.
The two bills actually to watch are the debt ceiling and voting rights. Fillibuster carve-outs will be necessary to get them through.
Thank you, @khyber900 for the much needed grounding.
I’m getting incredibly tired of American journalism reinforcing GOP lies.
Raising the debt limit is to pay bills run up by Trump and the GOP Congress. These bills already have been incurred, and now must be paid. Not one cent of future spending – by Biden, Democrats, or anyone else – is involved.
McConnell knows that, and the press knows that, but they bleat “Democratic spending” bullshit 24/7.
Enough!
Sinema is probably wearing gym shoes so she can sprint away to meet with big business at the check writing session
Great advice.
Happy to be agreeable!
I told myself not to look at the news for a few days while the Dems thrashed this mess out, but I did.
My first, headline scan was “Democrats Cave in Disarray” but then I went to the comments to see what the smart people had to say, and I felt better.
Still, times are perilous, and there’s just so little I can do about it directly, it tends to make one a bit kvetchy shall we say?
The old saw that tells you never to watch the sausage being made is still correct.
