The transition will be even more challenging if Trump torches the White House before leaving office. I’ll give him about a 50/50 chance of doing that.

Too soon for me. We have to win the thing first.

True. But you gotta hit the ground running when it happens. They’d be fools to leave it to the last minute.

Joe’s not spending his time on it right now, he’s focused on the campaign. But he’ll have a good team prioritizing and strategizing. No stumbling out of the block.

Although it is “too soon” to talk about transition, Biden needs to be fully prepared. I expect in his “Operation Nero” (look it up) the Don will fire all Presidential appointees on January 20, leaving Biden with no operating Executive Branch, and in many cases no viable “acting” appointees. So he will need to have a “confirmathon” Senate session on January 21, and I do not expect that Trump’s FBI will have conducted background investigations on any of these folks.

This story has an inevitable ring to it.

I like it.

Yes I know about chickens before hatched. But what we need right now is the feeling of success and confidence creating more feelings of success and confidence. Here is what we need:

(1) MORE early voting (hopefully people seeing their friends and neighbors doing it will be galvanized as well)

(2) We MUST avoid the letdown on Election Day. The GOP is counting on making up for any shortfall due to eary voting by hitting the polls on Election Day…therefore, we MUST increase our Election Day output over the GOP as well

We need an instinct to finish this off.

Measuring for drapes seldom ends well.

It’s encouraging that they are no longer talking about putting Republicans in the Biden cabinet.

The factions are already taking credit for a victory that is not assured yet. Pressure from progressives? Aren’t they the ones who supported Sanders who was soundly defeated in the primaries? Who speaks for the moderates?

Delaware Sen. Chris Coons, a longtime Biden ally and friend, is seen as a top contender for secretary of state, and he has been increasingly vocal about foreign policy in recent weeks.

Yes, get serial appeaser Coons out of the Senate and the Judiciary Committee in particular, asap.

If Biden wins and Dems take the Senate they all better do nothing but feverishly undo every fricking thing Trump has wrought. They’ll have about 20 months and then the window will close. Eliminate the filibuster. Expand SCOTUS. Make DC a State. The list is long, and if they blow the opportunity to act they’ll rue the day they won.

Yeah, all those potential appointments and policies are great, but before any of that gets to take effect, what’s their plan for when Trump refuses to leave?

Donald Trump is the biggest threat to the United States since the Civil War, but even now his absolute worst impulses have been held in check because he’s following the democratic election process as the best way to stay in power. But that threat is going to get multiplied if he realizes that option is unavailable to him and he has free reign on the Executive Branch for two and a half months.

Agree w/both the “too soon” sentiments and the necessity of beginning to plan in case we do win, which is standard. I ask only that if we do win that we please, please, please be very careful about who we pluck out of the Senate for cabinet positions. That could really come back to haunt us, whatever the composition of the chamber after the 2020 election. We lost Obama’s seat in Illinois in 2010, as well as Kennedy’s seat in Massachusetts.

Can we please focus on 11/3 and only 11/3. Sorry Alexandra but that’s what most of us are preparing for.

They’re going to need a new white house, one without the moscow bugs. Tear down the old one November 4th. Give the occupant 3 minutes’ notice.

Agree 100%

One recommendation: that there be no inaugural parade and no inaugural balls. Lets send two messages: We want to save money. We want to get right to work.
