Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), who has been less than coy about his intentions for months, will announce his bid for Senate on Monday, according to multiple outlets.

Good. The way to handle this situation is to run a traditional democrat hard, and run early. Go in with guns blazing and stampede the money away from spoiler sinema. Also try to get Lake nominated on the gop side.

Gallego seems to be on the right track. Just keep pointing out what Sinema does, its implications for Arizonans and the folks who voted for her, and how he’ll be different. I wonder if he’s on ActBlue yet?

I’m giving him all my money. She’s gotta go. I’m normally totally against this kind of thing, but seeing that Sen. Kelly did well in a much tougher environment than the one she’s likely facing makes me happily willing to support Gallego. She’s gotta go. Her one-and-done term should serve as a warning to anybody stupid enough to consider following in her tacky ass shoes.

I sincerely hope he sends her packing. She’ll get a nice job in some right-wing think tank. She won’t suffer. But the people of AZ deserve better than her. They really do.

I hope he has more success in AZ than Barnes had in WI.

Same. She’d lose to an R in a one-on-one race anyway; who in the Democratic Party is going to support her? She’s no Angus King, much more a Joe Lieberman.

She’s now a beltway creature who sold out her constituents at the first, second, third, fourth, fifth and counting opportunity. Lieberman (that sanctimonious asshole) at least ran a functioning constitutent services office.

I don’t know if I would go that far.

Either they support her reelection effort, despite her immense unpopularity with her own party, or risk splitting the Democratic vote and throwing the purple seat to a Republican.

emphasis mine

Not really a risk anymore as she had tanked her approval among Democrats:

Sinema has so damaged her reputation, that it’s not clear she could win in 2024 with full Democratic support:

With Sinema going full independent, its time to cut bait and switch to a candidate who can win. Go Go Gallego!

It’s hard to predict what is going to happen, but you can bet your tail that Sinema and her horrible outfits won’t be returning to the Senate.

Ratfucking works. And it’s not as if Lake’s a fake candidate (that’s a different, more florida-style ratfucking).

Any Senate candidate in the Democratic fold will be smart to follow Gallego’s message on the filibuster. This message also happens to be the same for Democratic freshmen Senators. It will be necessary to oppose the filibuster in its current form to secure the party’s nomination.

You didn’t hear it here first.

That’s the biggest merkin I’ve ever seen.

He’s going to beat her like a gong in the early running and then she’s going to withdraw.

That’s what I hope, but I think she’ll pull out only if the money dries up, because that money would be paying her to play spoiler. That’s why the optimal strategy is to go big, early. Scare away the money to find someplace else to ratfuck.

May '24 see her leaving the Senate to spend more time with her filibuster.

Looks like some poor creature bet more than that.

Zero chance. Soon as she leaves the senate she’s nobody. She’ll be making her bones up until noon January 3rd.
