Republicans are facilitating “foreign interference” in the 2020 election by probing “discredited” allegations of Ukrainian involvement in the 2016 election, three Democratic Senators wrote in a Tuesday letter.

Lutsenko, Telizhenko and others would like nothing more than to sit in the Senate chamber and lie their everloving asses off in exchange for the GOP treating them like a national hero and helping them regain positions of power in Ukraine. The same is true for all of them.

I hope this is the first in a series of actions to call the Republican’s bluff. Keep the Democratic asks on the front page. Don’t let Frump and Friends choose the narrative and allow him to claim he had no chance to defend himself (despite several opportunities). Keep trying to subpoena his supposed friends who he claims support his story while not letting them be deposed or testify. The Democrats must keep out front loudly and firmly, doing everything to
make this a fair process in the face of the GOP doing just the opposite. And if it’s not looking fair, make it clear that’s because F & F refused to let it be. Democrats should long ago have been calling press conferences stating that the GOP is in a de facto alliance with Russia and has refused to protect the 2020 election precisely in order to facilitate pro-Republican undermining of our elections. This is a state of affairs obvious to all and our electeds should have the decency to say so.
