David Perdue Boosted Wealth With Well-Timed Stock Trades As Pandemic Hit | Talking Points Memo

But he added, “You need more than suspicions to convict.” Coffee, Jr.

Not looking to convict the shady fuck. Just denying him a seat in the Senate is all we want right now.

At this point in our national decline, I think the rubes would applaud his shrewdness, imagining how rich they will be when they get the chance to game the system, too. Making the impoverished identify with the wealthiest has been, IMO, the really amazing accomplishment of the modern GOP.

David Perdue Boosted Wealth With Well-Timed Stock Trades As Pandemic Hit

I think the headline writer misspelled “Probably Illegal” as “Well-Timed.”

Amen. There’s no need for a conviction. All that is needed is a sufficient perception of malfeasance to keep enough people from voting for him. See Clinton, Hillary R.

Greg Sargent has a theory as to why GOP-Trumpers are perfectly fine with cheating and political activism that denigrates democracy. Leveling the playing field coz Dems give free stuff to minorities.

That’s just Mitt Romney’s “47 percent” theory.

I think at some point most people have to admit its finally gone too far. But for some of those goobers, that’ll never happen in a million years.

Definitely not as crispy.

Yep, this nails it. My Trumper relatives brag about taking unfair advantage of government benefits. One, for example, goes around with a handicap placard in his car despite not being handicapped and brags about using it to get the best parking spots. They feel justified because in their minds undeserving minorities are getting handouts left and right so they are just taking what they believe should rightfully be their’s. Of course the strawmen they have set up to justify their actions don’t actually exist and the reality is that they are morally bankrupt.

There was no question who Romney was referring to.

“Welp, Perdue’s OUR crook…so stuff it, libtard…”

Stacey Abrams is aware of that mentality dealing with a person like Perdue (and Loeffler, too).

It’s a built-in RWNJ emotional and, indeed, existential surge of interest in coming out to vote for their candidate. The only way we win is to match that during voting time.

It may be late in the Game for the GA runoffs but here is a sarcastic, fictitious instance which encapsulates what the Democrats have had difficulty with:

  • Dem Boss: “Good Afternoon, Ms. Smith. Pleased to make your acquaintance. What can I do for you?”

  • Ms. Smith: “I understand that you are doing campaign staffing.”

  • Dem Boss: “What are your interests? What do you have to offer and what are your salary objectves?”

  • Ms. Smith: “You may have heard of me (gives credentials and background). I am the Best political messenger in the United States. I would like $50,000,000 per year.”

  • Dem Boss: “When can you start?”

Sure. Agreed. But I’m not certain that Romney took it upon himself to extend the “47%” idea to justify whole-scale attacks on the nation’s electoral process, from presidential to local, to “level the playing field”.
