I was thinking of the pre-credits scene from Goldfinger

Gee. I guess we could expect to get that full report just after those detectives get back from Hawaii and we get the truth about Jeffrey Epstein’s death.

I believe he may be worried about that eponymous tower. And he thought it was a bad thing when people started taking his name off buildings.

I think Trump and Cotton are misreading the moment. I realize Trump is intent on running Nixon’s campaign, but this isn’t 1968.

We’ve seen video after video after video…ad nauseum…of black Americans being provoked, injured, or killed by out of control law enforcement. People know this now, whereas perhaps they didn’t 50 years ago. The solution is not more law enforcement -either quantitatively or qualitatively -it’s better law enforcement. We need more dialogue, more inclusivity, more community-oriented policing. We don’t need Robo-cop, we need a neighborhood patrol who knows everyone’s name. We need a Justice system willing to take a long, hard look in the mirror at itself and with the courage to make requisite changes.

He’s crazy and out of control, so who knows what he means. He’s never been specific in his threats, and it’s very cunning in a way. He leaves it open to interpretation by people who are stressed to the max for so many reasons, and if it continues to scare by insinuation all the much better for him.

Unfortunately, the Insurrection Act will be used to override Posse Comitatus.

I could be wrong, but the Founding Fathers that the repubs love to chat about would probably have a bone to pick with Mr. Cotton.

Good to know he had some participants willing to speak charitably on the Don’s frightening psychosis…

Not once. Oh, maybe the time he shared pizza with Palin and showed us how to use a knife and fork on a slice.

There is going to be some percentage of the republican party, post Trump, that is going to lurch even further rightward. Cotton will be the one leading that charge, I have very little doubt.

Shrieking pretend president cries out “You’ve got to dominate (because God knows, I can’t)!” Voice trails off into terrified muffled gibbering.

The open question is whether there’s any lurch that can actually fracture the party or will authoritarian “follow-the-leader” drag them over every cliff together?

There will be a certain minority in the Republican Party who will be thrilled with him.

And a majority of Americans who want nothing to do with him. His attitude is not something he can pivot out of. And the clip can be used to goose turn out against him.

Can anyone imagine the imagery if Trump does, somehow - illegally, moves the “military” in and they start shooting down protesters? Every one of the protesters and onlookers has a 12 megapixel camera and video camera in the palm of their hand and the ability to send those photos and video out to the general public instantly.

The images will be shocking and stain this lunatic’s presidency forever.

I guess my post (which I also used in another article) should have been GOPROFA

The Rs decided decades ago with the help of the Kochs to go as far right as they could. There’s no turning to the left ever again. It’d make them look foolish, but continuing to stay on a right wing path ignores the changing demographics of this country. Old White Men don’t rule any longer at the voting booth.

Yep, and that phone video is what got this all started.
