Lewandowski doesn’t strike me as the public servant type. More like someone that wants to get into the Senate to enrich himself and wield power for his own personal advantage.
I have no objection to anyone trying to run for office but he really should start with a much lower level job, maybe entering as a Rep of the town where he comes from, or mayor, or even as a State office holder before being one of only 100 individuals in the Senate. That position should really be reserved for those that have already paid their dues in terms of public service imo. Jeanne Shaheen was a governor before becoming a Senator. I’d say she earned the trust of people in NH for her Senate position.

It might be easier to start several Ponzi schemes, disguised as businesses, that fail and go bankrupt. Do that for a few years first. Then you’re ready for even the pinnacle of positions in government.

Southern Maine is fairly blue and they flipped the Governorship and a House seat (ME-2) in 2018. I am cautiously optimistic that Maine will turn Collins out in 2020.
That said, Scott Brown, a better politician with no Trump baggage at the time, lost to Shaheen in 2014 during a Obama midterm election that saw a net gain of 9 R seats in the Senate.
Corey is a grifter. He will grift, it is what grifters do.

I had to turn that shit off yesterday. There’s nothing more dispiriting than watching a bunch of Dems go at each other constantly while Rome burns because the moderators continually insist they do so. They primed all questions like throwing red meat into the water expecting everyone to bite at it like a bunch of sharks. And the fools fell for it. I wanted to see them bash tRump, not each other. tRump is why I can’t sleep, why I’m exhausted and why I think this country will be destroyed if he gets another term. They need to recognize how fucking insane and uncomfortable that is for most of the Democratic base. And if Obama-bashing becomes the norm…we won’t win shit. I still love Obama and though he wasn’t perfect, I’d take his calm demeanor of no drama any day of the week. They all should learn how he was quite the role model in that regard.

Warren doesn’t fall for their GOP inspired bullshit. She schools them, as she did to Tweety the other night. Warren is my top choice and nothing I saw last night changed my mind about that determination. If the Democrats refuse to play the game, there’s no story, only whining and whimpering, self serving commentary. She was right about Fox News and several Democrats, to their loss, didn’t listen.

This seems to be the song I keep singing today but here goes - nobody will remember these “debates” when the election rolls around.
They are not worth angsting over at all. If anyone remembers a debate when they go to vote, it will be a debate between the opposing candidates - Trump vs whomever we nominate.

That’s fine if he were running for the House; he’s running for the Senate. Against an incumbent who has done a reasonable job for the constituency. All should be well there. I worked in NH last year for the summer (contract at a yogurt producer). It may be purple, but the blue will show up too.
I kind of wish they would have a separate VP primary, so those haven’t-a-hope candidates could get out the way and just vie against each other for the second slot. The presidential candidate wouldn’t be obliged to pick one of them, but it would be helpful in assessing who would be a good running mate, and political junkies could hear more about interesting ideas from people like Yang.

The forum format didn’t lend itself to that. CNN knew what it was doing. There should be a significant discussion between CNN and the DNC for the cluster CNN ran these last two nights.
And if there isn’t a discussion now, early in the election season, we can count on more of the same as the season rolls along. And that doesn’t bode well for anyone.
Except maybe Trump.

As long as we’re mindful that the VP must be able to step into the Presidency at a moment’s notice. Ideally, whoever is the VP must be “presidential material”. Incompetent, knownothing, inexperienced assholes, like our two present ignoramuses, are for Republicans.
