A Who’s Who of those who voted Trump Not Guilty.

Tom Cotton:

If the Chief Justice believes his political judgment is so exquisite, I invite him to resign, travel to Iowa, and get elected. I suspect voters will find his strange views no more compelling than do the principled justices”

Assuming Cotton is referring to today’s DACA decision: He knows much better than to suggest it was based on the CJ’s “political judgment.”

The majority opinion is not difficult to understand. Obviously Cotton has no counter-argument – so he insinuates his lies.

How is Cuccinelli still Acting Deputy Head of Homeland Security? I thought his appointment was found to be illegal?
I realize that Trumpanzees don’t care about the law, but I would think this would open up ever single decision and meeting where Cuccinelli is involved to lawsuits and challenges.
Which would be a good thing.

They always tend to use the “jammed down the throats” metaphor a lot. Hmmm

In any other world, that Tweet from Cuccinelli would have him instantly fired.

Republicans should be celebrating this decision. It’s a gift from Roberts to them.

Will make it that much harder for President Biden to overturn all of Trump’s executive orders.

The reason for the outcry is well known by all. Republicans have no respect for the actual rule of law.

As more conservatives bash Roberts for doing what he believes is the right thing, he’ll probably become more disillusioned with the conservative movement in general. I’m really starting to believe that Roberts has seen the light. If he has, it wouldn’t be the first time a conservative justice has turned after being appointed to SCOTUS either.

Hey Roberts!

No more invites to The Heritage Foundation shindigs for you! You are OFF the circle-jerk circuit!

Nyah! Nyah!

All bigots are conservative, not all conservatives are bigots.

That is called projection. This time it is what they wanted to do, versus what they did, but then they can’t help themselves so it does not matter if they got it done or not.

I am sure that Justice Roberts is quaking in his boots. Lashing out at a guy with a lifetime appointment b/c he refused to rubber stamp tRump’s/Miller’s racist, vindictive DACA policy is peak end-stage Republicanism.

Ben Sasse:

“It’s bad news for civic health that the Court regularly flexes legislative muscle it doesn’t have under our Constitution.”

Assuming Sasse is referring to today’s DACA decision: He knows much better than to suggest that the Court’s decision amounts to “flex[ing] legislative muscle.”

Again, the majority opinion is not difficult to understand: Trump simply went about his business with his usual incompetence. Obviously Sasse has no counter-argument – but unlike Cotton, who resorts to insinuating lies, Sasse merely resorts to boiler-plate Republican gibberish.

I really believe that Conservative bragging about getting “their” judges confirmed is offensive, and counterproductive (from the conservative point of view) to reasonable judges who want to do a good job . This of course excludes pure activist judges like Thomas but does include the vast majority of the judiciary who would be offended that their rulings are considered to be reliably dictated to agree with who appointed them. Maybe there is hope.

It’s interesting to hear from a SC justice who’s opinion is not known before it is issued.

This is Christmas in June for the Dotard, nothing to keep the attention of the reactionaries away from all the rest of the bad news, like Bolton’s accusations.

That may be what they need, but the reactionary right is more interested at yelling at Roberts for the moment: “Get back witch!”
