Chris Wallace is doing a better job in discrediting the FBI than Comey is doing in defending the FBI.
A substantial part of the interview here:
Wallace reiterates that it was Democrats who were behind the Steele Dossier, without mentioning Fusion. Comey lets that one slide, not that I really expected him not to because I’m one of the few who has never swallowed his bullshit from the get go.
I’m afraid that at the end of the day, Comey is merely playing the role of one of the enemies that Trump “vanquishes”.
Only to the GOP’s bad faith criticism. Call me when he publicly apologizes for throwing the election to Trump with his last minute Hillary “investigation” announcement. Until then, he’s still part of the problem.
We all (or most, anyway) remember J. Edgar. I never have seen any evidence where his agency or even him individually, ever influenced an election and that guy was about as corrupt and power hungry as any we’ve seen in history.
I don’t see the problem here. Comey is nailing down an aspect of the IG’s report and we can move on from there. This has no effect on what’s coming this week.
I’ll yield to those who think so (isn’t that how Nadler’s committee did it?)
Comey is trying to pretend that the flaws in the FISA system were news to him. But there were a number of reports detailing problems with the FISA warrant process well before the IG report (or the 2016 election).
…but Comey will never have the courage to admit worse-than-sloppiness in sending his infamous letter to Congress. He is just another Tony Blair. Tony & James really should go away, until they apologize.
Has anyone told us whether or not the FISA aps would have been denied if they’d been properly written? If the errors were not substantive or material then it seems they’re being discussed as a diversion and to imply the investigation was not properly founded. Horowitz said he found ample cause for the surveillance of Carter Page. There were many applications for FISA warrants. Did they all have errors?
