The presidential race in October, Stephen Colbert said Wednesday, is “as tight as Mitt’s smile when he meets a poor person.” And corporate sponsors are getting in on the recent polling frenzy. 7/11 convenience stores, for instance, are offering shoppers a “cup poll” — a blue cup meant to represent support for President Obama and a red cup for Mitt Romney. The Obama cups are currently on top.“Are we sure they’re not using four-year-old data?” Colbert said. “Because I’m pretty sure they’re using four-year-old hot dogs.”
