CNN’s Tapper Blasts Trump’s ‘Clownish Coup Attempt’ At Overturning Election Results | Talking Points Memo

I’m working on one but I’m having a hard time finding a rhyme for goat fucking orange faced fat fuck.

He was piggy-backing off of Gloria Borger’s contention that Trump’s attempt’s to get officials in those states to overturn the results, whether it was calling them from the Oval Office or calling from a basement… is election tampering and it’s illegal.

That should’ve been the lede here. Then close the retelling of Borger’s with Tapper words as an extremely blunt concurrence with Borger’s account.

CNN’s Tapper Blasts Trump’s ‘Clownish Coup Attempt’ At Overturning Election Results

While thousands of people are dying weekly in the country because of Covid, btw, and Trump is using this for fundraising.

Can we just cut to the chase here?!

All these lawsuits and pleading with state officials to somehow make the election turn around and favor Trump is because the man can not process the fact that he had an assist in 2016. That he alone was able to get his racist hate messages out to the four corners of the country.
And because we Dems said “Donnie you didn’t do this alone, your friend Vlad helped you win. And this is how he did it______________” Trump can’t hear it or process it. And because we marched, and because we protested, then this time around he won’t concede that he lost because he had so many superspreader events than Biden, hell he even had a hand in killing off one of, or the only Black wealthy Republican willing to run for office.
What we have here is a person with NPD, who can’t accept defeat, add in the fact that as POTUS he has/ had 4000 “employees” working to satisfy his every whim, to tell him he’s the greatest President since, well forever. And not one of his sycophants ever told him a discouraging word, told him what’s the what. And part of it is Trump is a Shit, and a Shit does shitty things.
I just hope that they don’t try and launch a nuclear missile, that’s all we need right now. :woman_facepalming:

I agree, they are terrified at the demographic doom they face. But the irony is that the Republican Party has another separate route to remaining electorally competitive with Democrats, which is to move leftward back toward the center. Yes, that would shed a great many of their angry Trumpsters, but they could then gain back a portion of the moderate Democratic voter base.

Maybe I’m wrong, and they’ve already done the calculus that shows policywise they’d have to basically become northeastern Republicans circa 1975 to achieve anything close to parity there. That’s a long path to go from where they are right now. But the alternative is to veer deeper into ignorant, violent fascism that will eat them alive just as much as it will eat Democrats and liberals.

Try to forgive Jake for not using “criminal” or “treasonous” but he did use these words which the loser didn’t hear in any case.

Tapper didn’t mince words as he aired his grievances over Republicans’ push for Trump’s virtually nonexistent chances of a second term.

“It is a clownish, and it will be a failed attempt, at a coup, a non-violent coup,” Tapper said. “But it is absolutely disgraceful. There’s really no other word for it other than that.”

The problem with this plan is that the current angry-mob base doesn’t really want or expect results. They just want to own the libs and keep their guns. The centrist republicans who’ve drifted toward the “conservative democrat” side of the spectrum actually expect some kind of result ie. “keep the socialists away from my social security”. The current mob of republican politicians prefers a Know-nothing electorate that will blindly vote for them to a moderately-informed electorate that actually expect something tangible (albeit lily-white) from the guys they vote for.

We have allowed the media to turn government and governance into a political reality show. No news none of the time.

Today SpaceX launched a test version of their “starship” which promises to do something no one has done in 70 years, make access to space pretty darn cheap. The test was an almost success with the flight going well until just before landing. It was a test bed so failure is an option and it will no doubt be succeeded by successful tests and then the solar system is open. Any mention of Starship on the news. No, not news. In other news the largest pension plan investor in America is getting out of fossil fuel stocks the way pension plans did a generation ago with tobacco. The news was how environmentally aware the pension plan was, but what I know because I got out of all of my fossil fuel stocks months ago is oil stocks aren’t good places to put your money. That is more news worthy than Tapper blasting Trump’s clownish coup attempt. I can no longer stand to watch MSNBC even though I like the hosts. None of them are telling me anything I haven’t heard 1000 times this week.

What I want is for people to hear that America is rich enough to provide a solid education for every kid, to provide healthcare for all, and to provide everyone with an adequate job so no one has to live in poverty. I want politicians to compete with each other to provide every American with opportunity. That won’t happen because the media gives priority to reality show bullshit which is the modern American version of Roman bread and circuses except Americans don’t even get the bread.

One thing that Trump and his craven supporters are not prepared to deal with is ridicule. A hearty guffaw from the electorate or Democrats in Congress or the news media may have more effect, ultimately, in deflating these attempts to overturn the people’s vote than any recitation of legal points, cases, opinions of law professors, etc.

But we sure do get the circus, don’t we. And this circus is all clowns, all the time.

Depends on which prison. I favor the Supermax in Florence, CO. He won’t be tweeting from there. But he will be able to chat with Ted Kaczynski in the yard.

Were there any Republican AGs who did not support the TX lawsuit? Are they still alive?

Depends on what you call cheap. Sure you can go 62 miles up and back for 250,000 grand via Virgin Galactic. But so far, going to the ISS and back isn’t cheap:

Sending astronauts to the ISS aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon or Boeing CST-100 Starliner is expected to cost just $58 million a seat, according to NASA

And that’s $58 million if you book well in advance. Just try getting that same seat for $58 million on the day of travel, OMG forget it.
