CNN Poll: Majority Of US Doesn’t Fully Trust What The WH Says

I have always found that 28% number to be fascinating, the same number who still approved of Bush at the end, true dead enders

they are the same 28% who need to be written off as a loss, no reason to even try to appeal to them because clearly nothing is capable of penetrating that cohort, yet I would venture to guess that ample effort will be expended to appeal to their … what I don’t know

Let’s not call them deplorable this time. While they undeniably are, using that term in public turns off others who may otherwise be reachable.

I believe the White House when they say, for example, that all of trump’s day yesterday was Executive Time…

I’d say both traditional good ole smart campaigning coupled with counter intelligence. Trust nothing–nothing–the GOPers say and prepare to be slimed, but stay your course.

So this is what a banana republic feels like…
Obviously, the man is full of baloney.

I think of them as the unfathomable, as in how deep can their unknowing and caring go in the 21st century.

The next president will need a special prosecutor just to straighten out all the doctored data and fake reports that have come out of this administration. Trump does not put up with letting either crowd size or poor economic numbers get publicized in their “uncorrected” form.

This poll is BS. I know for a fact more than 9% or the populace keeps a drool cup close by.

Thanks for the article! But I prefer the alternate name they give for the number, the Keyes Constant, (from Alan Keyes’ vote percentage when he parachuted in to run against Obama for US Senate).

I think he’s full of something else, but the sink tone would be decidedly wrong.

9% “trust” what comes out of the white house? I don’t think they know what trust is, or are liars themselves. They LIKE what comes out of the white house because owning teh libs.

Was there a 28% when Walter Cronkite was the most trusted man in America?

Yes, and probably the same 28% as we still have today who are happily insulated from truth by hate radio and Murdoch.

The really sad part is that a fair amount of that majority DON’T CARE if they can’t trust the WH. How the hell do you deal with that reality? The Democrats are Satan and that’s that.

Here’s what I see - remember that the vast majority of Americans simply aren’t paying attention because the news makes them ‘sad’. How many of the folks in this poll sit in this category, wallowing in their ‘sadness’ and taking their problems to Margaritaville? I know some of these folks. But I bet they are more prevalent and make up a good percentage of this poll.

And understand: it won’t matter WHICH poll one is asked for. The American people are that disconnected that they don’t care to give a decent, informed answer.

I agree with this. Parts of Hong Kong are in chaos over the potential extraditing of their citizens to China; we see dead children in US custody at the border and can’t be bothered to organize en masse. But we like to fight and shoot at each other over shortages of fast food chicken sandwiches!

Those were probably rough childhoods after their uncles stole their noses.

And each other.

Someone asked me today on social media as to how America was so united after 9/11 and what happened? One respondent said it was Trump. I said

Nope, not Trump, although he played a part (remember he could see Muslims dancing in the streets in Newark from his office window, which never happened?).

No, the terrorists won. They made us hate each other and the world. Trump is the culmination of that, he is not the cause.

For a lot of people, the lesson learned from the Vietnam War was: don’t allow fair and unbiased media coverage of any military action.

These days our news coverage is utterly devoid of anything remotely inquisitive (much less critical!) of what our military is doing. I doubt more than 20% of the country have any kind of informed idea regarding just how much our military is doing overseas.

That’s because the MSM can’t make money on it, but they make oodles of money over the latest Diamond and Silk post. Our priorities are messed up and I doubt highly whether there will be any credibility in the news arena in my lifetime or ever again. They’ve discredited themselves in so many ways, it’s not recoverable.

And it pretty much got traction 18 years ago today.
