House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC) said on Tuesday that he hopes state and local governments in Georgia will pursue “criminal charges” against President Donald Trump.

Clyburn should expand his call to include charges against his colleagues who are on board with the cheezey traitor in chief.
Pursuing criminal charges: this is good, sensible advice. If done by a Republican administration (in Georgia), it would remove any taint of “partisanship” by Democrats. Trump’s actions MUST NOT go unpunished; while Joe Biden can go ahead with “looking forward, not back”, his AG and the various states need to run full speed ahead on prosecuring Trump’s innumerable crimes.
Otherwise, the only “lesson” that Republicans learn from this administration is that they are above the law.
Good for him…it is LONG past time to just ‘shrug’ at Trump’s ‘antics’. They are CRIMES.
Clyburn may as well call for peace on earth and for goodwill among all peoples. It’s Georgia!
This is the right attitude, call for an investigation and give reasons why. There definitely looks to be a real reason to do it, the evidence is pretty clear, but we need honest prosecutors to look at it and decide if they can make a case. And, we won’t get that until the Trump appointees are cleared out, or if there are charges at the state level.
Really, the interference in the election result has weakened our democracy, if Republicans don’t see any punishment for Trump’s attempt at changing the vote totals, then next time they may just decide to go through with it. I’m really hoping that this comes up during the Republican antics tomorrow…Democrats should focus on airing all of the dirty laundry they can instead of wasting time refuting the lies the Republicans will spew.

Fani Willis has vowed to begin an investigation on Trump’s phone call. I’m assuming she will be pursuing state charges of Soliciting Election Fraud, which a US president cannot pardon.
I assume more investigations will follow, from different offices, although the GA SoS has already passed the buck, citing obvious conflict of interests, he being in on the phone call.
It doesn’t matter who prosecutes, only that he ends up doing time for attempting to subvert a democratic election. All that matters in the end is that he needs prison time as a disincentive for anyone ever attempting this bullshit again. And frankly, I think it would be quite useful to have Fani Willis – Fulton County’s Democratic D.A. – be the one to put him away, as it would establish that Dems are not going to take this shit lying down.
