The trend here is since Republicans can’t defend the bill, they’re attacking the people speaking out against it (Biden, Abrams, MLB, various corporations). Playing offense is their defense, but we won’t shut up and sit down about this.

Yes! And I really don’t even think that works. I doubt there are too many nonpolitical types who even know who Stacey Abrams is, certainly not to the extent that they have an opinion of her one way or another. People already either love or hate baseball, and the GOP’s opinion of MLB isn’t going to change that. Same with the other corporations they try to vilify. It didn’t work with Nike and it won’t work elsewhere.

WORD! Also, a white man giving voice and legitimacy to AA grievances is almost always how AA grievances finally get addressed. White folk really didn’t give a damn about the abuses in the Jim Crow south until those same racists started killing white people too. That’s what led to passing the VRA.

I’m just looking at the verbiage Christie used against Biden this morning - “raging fire”, “destroys”, “total war”, “lying”, “hypocrite” - very strong, negative words, and it strikes me that Republicans are still flailing.

Regrettably, those words and innuendos would have worked with their base against Obama (as Boehner has confirmed), but won’t work against Biden. That’s unfortunately how it is.
