The Leyden high school district in Franklin Park, Illinois, near Chicago, has partnered with Google to give its students 3,500 Google Chromebook laptops that they can borrow and take home while enrolled in school, local ABC affiliate WLS reports. The laptops use Google’s Chrome operating system, which is primarily based around Google Web apps such as Gmail and Google Drive (formerly known as Google Docs).
