Anthony Bouchard is a shoo-in.

The GOP is a guerrilla, wartime organization…all aboard…

It’s the goal that’s in their sight.

MAGA. only the best people.

The Trump people want to get rid of Cheney. so they found the very best candidate available. If he is the best possible, just how morally compromised are the rest of them?

Maybe the others are just not pathetic enough.

He was 18. She was 14. Even if it weren’t illegal, it’s sick and wrong. When I was 18 I knew it was wrong in every possible way to be involved with an eighth-grader. Who doesn’t understand that? How do you stand there and explain this as if it were anything but a life-ruining crime? They just get more and more astonishingly brazen.

What a horribly sad, tragic story. A 14 year old gets pregnant by her adult boyfriend, then goes to a state that will marry them despite the fact that she’s still a child because every adult in her life signs off on it instead of supporting her through the most difficult decisions imaginable. 6 years later, she dies by suicide.

Her son is now considered a fuckup by his father, the political candidate :persevere:.

Just tragic and disgraceful.

I know if I had a background like that there is no way I would offer myself as a candidate.

Just run as a republican.

Your question reminds me of the double standard pointed out in 2008 when Sarah Palin’s daughter was pregnant but it was actually put in a positive light because she was having the baby and everyone knew if it had been Barack Obama’s daughter the story and the election would have been completely different.

I have the teensiest tiniest bit of empathy for the pregnancy part, even if it evidences extremely bad judgment (at the very, very least). But if this has been kept a secret all of these years? What the hell was he thinking? How DO you go into politics without full disclosure of the stuff that can (and will) come back to bite? Hubris and arrogance? Abject stupidity? I just don’t know how anyone in a public position can think stuff like this will stay under wraps.

The only way it might be possible is as a Republican. Remember IOKIYAR.

Things are worse now in a lot of ways, but there’s at least one small mercy in that Bristol Palin isn’t out there any more opining on things. That was just too much.

Did you get to the part where he was 18, she was 14, then he married her when she was 15, they divorced three years later and a couple years after that she killed herself?

There ain’t no empathy for this animal.

But you probably wouldn’t have a background like that because you have a functional sense of shame, unlike this wanker

This just a horrible story. Okay, the dude can’t help himself and has to be involved in what’s happening in the country coz he’s an idiot, fine.

You don’t run for political office with this in your footlocker, jeebus.

Great. So you’re the one that jinxed us, thought “welp, can’t get worse than this!”, and then 2016…

“This is why good people don’t enter politics”

I’m not saying people can’t turn their lives around
but at what point after his teen years did he become
“a good person” ???
