I have a feeling that in addition to rain, wind and sheep, the Falklands have oil, and I’m reminded of the meeting in Godfather II where Hyman Roth’s Cuba-shaped birthday cake is being divided among the bosses of the mafia families. The main distinction is that this time around, there are only two families and that ultimately, there will be only one - the Trumps - after Argentina becomes the 53rd state.
The one’s I know certainly have the IQ you’re discussing, but they almost universally remind me of (other) relatives with Alzheimers. They can’t remember anything but the grudges. And we’re talking about religious fervor. I expect them to hold on to the anger and twist the facts to suit their narrative. Generally not being the sharpest knives in the drawer makes it easier for the manipulators to lead them.
At least he’s spending his time doing what makes him happy. There’s a lesson in that somewhere I think. He’s always been a bit detached otherwise, then and now. Still a jerk but now that we have trump, everything is relative. Frankly, W comes out a hair ahead in the most awful US presidents categories. Never thought I’d hear myself say that until trump either.
My brother is a cultist and very definitely not low-IQ (JD from an Ivy, and not because we are legacies). He’s a tightwad and a racist, and can’t ever admit that he is wrong. Those three things are more than enough.

That said, yeah, most of them are complete morons. It’s not at all difficult for a sentient and objective person to look at what has happened in the last 19-1/2 months and discover the source of the problem.
My hay guy brought me one of those huge bales yesterday afternoon. I gave him an extra twenty for delivery, since the AAA NM price for diesel was right at six bucks a gallon. Six would be nice, he laughed. He had stopped to fill up his pickup at a truckstop where the sign advertised $6.14. But that was the price at the 18-wheeler pumps. Passenger vehicle pumps were gouging at $6.47.
This week’s Ed Zitron, everyone’s favorite AI scold on the Tech Report show. Usually he covers the house of cards financial stuff behind the AI buildout and he does get into that, but at the start he comments on the latest “it will kill us all” vibe in the media.
