GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Advice from the top U.S. disease control experts on how to safely reopen businesses and institutions during the coronavirus pandemic was more detailed and restrictive than the plan released by the White House last month.
By contrast, the organizational tool created by the CDC advocates for a coordinated national response to give community leaders step-by-step instructions to “help Americans re-enter civic life,” with the idea that there would be resurgences of the virus and lots of customization needed.
Let’s see the who from the WH decided that the CDC’s recommendations needed to be shelved. It couldn’t be Trump since he doesn’t attend, nor does he understand how COVID-19 works on a person’s body or spreads.
Could it be Pence? Did Mother declare that she needed to go out and get a hair cut or dye job? From Pence’s past response with HIV in Indiana he too doesn’t understand actions have consequences.
Is Azar even around?
Is it Kushner? Would he lower himself to sit on the Pandemic adviser panel while there are business partners to chat up?
Was it Redfield who seems to not understand how to maneuver between effin’ up the CDC and being a Trump soldier.
Meadows? WTF is he doing?
God there are too many incompetents to list.
In all fairness, Kayleigh did offer to share her hairdresser and makeup artist.
ETA: And since Faucci said just yesterday the actual count is probably higher, I guess he didn’t get the same offer - or didn’t react as positively to it.
Meanwhile, Canada is tightening security at its border crossings. Thanks, GOP, for making us not only the object of pity and mockery, but international pariahs.
And also: N days of declining cases actually means N days where cases decline, not just one day where the number is less than the number N days ago. (OK, I might go with 3-5 day averages because individual days will always be noisy.)
