Big assumption, given that the Dems aren’t nearly as focused with that energy as they should be. The GQP got here by being single-minded focus. The Dems still have far too many factions, many of whom give lip service to single-minded focus, but really are only focused on their own agendas.

Look, for instance, at how the progressives and other factions have attacked Nancy’s position on the infrastructure bill. Look, for instance, at our majority in the Senate being contaminated by daily BS flowing from Sinema and Manchin. Do you believe for one minute that, given all this, our win is assured? I’m not as convinced.

But looking at the McConnell corps, they stand united in their desire to disrupt everything. There is no such union on the Dem side and more’s the pity because that’s how all of this has happened to date and will only get worse. The Dems are like trying to herd cats.

No, it isn’t the law of the land, but it will soon become the law of much of the land. For poor women living in some of these states, it might as well be the law of the land. It is almost impossible to raise the fearmonger level enough. Women and young girls will die horrible deaths because of what SCOTUS has done, and that should terrify every last one of us.

And more than a few States are filching this template to write and pass laws in other States that will be similarly implemented. These States know they’ll get away with it because the legal precedent has been set by SCOTUS to wait until actual cases (of abuse of women) come before them, which could be years away.

All because the Roberts court didn’t have the [legal] sense they were born with.

I wonder if this is what Susan Collins thought too when she gave her big speech defending her vote for Kavanaugh and continued to insist that abortion rights were safe. She “naively” thought that the Court understood the game and wouldn’t do anything to make her look so foolish for entertaining the mendacity.

Totally. I tend to think that’s what most of them believed, that SCOTUS would never be stupid enough to pull the trigger and show us all what life would be like without Roe upheld. Even if they ultimately wind up striking down the law, the decision won’t come until next year. Which is plenty of time to reveal the horrors of this law.
