Cassidy Accuses Dems Of Using SCOTUS ‘Theater’ To Distract From Other Issues

Right. Theatre. They’re only women. Fk 'em.

My interpretation after much deliberation and cogitation is that they’re garden variety dicks no better emotionally or spiritually than the most profane and immoral louts that you can find at any bacchanalian frat house party. Its a big “fuck you” from them to us.

“I wish we would focus on issues as opposed to theater. It was about if they had standing, nothing to do with constitutionality. I think we should move on to other issues.”

Like, Benghazi, the “rigged election,” trans kids using bathrooms, anti-masking…the list goes on. Cassidy is just another goddamned hypocrite.

Women are concerned with who gets to control their wombs. Texas has enabled John Q. Public to try… The women object. Odd, isn’t it?

I’m curious to know how Stephanopoulos challenged that.

Oh, so the GOP is giving the GOP Operatives masquerading as Supreme Court Judges their orders to NOT allow this law. Hahaha…good luck.

I have missed your inimitable synthesis of multisyllabic eloquence and straight talk.

If this is the best that Cassidy can come up with, we’re good.

If the Court eventually gets around to deciding that the law that deputizes an untrained, unregulated populace to enforce an unconstitutional state policy is itself unconstitutional, will it have any words of wisdom about who has the obligation to provide for the health, education and welfare of the products of the abortions that were unconstitutionally denied? I hate to sound so inhumane but as @lastroth said this issue is time sensitive. Choices have consequences and the consequences of allowing this policy to stand while the moral majority on the Court smugly sit on their thumbs create serious, long term problems.

This guy would be fun to play against in a poker game. He just tipped his hand, telling us the GOP is disappointed that the Afghanistan drama is fading because people don’t care, but a majority really do care about preserving abortion rights. The GOP does not want that to be the big issue in the midterms.

I’m surprised McConnell didn’t get on the horn with Abbot and ask him to just wait until after the midterms to push this idiot law through.

I heard it loud and freaking clear! He basically just told every woman of this country that our bodies are theater, that our health care needs are theater, that rape victims being forced to have their rapist’s baby is theater, that little girls forced to have a rapist’s baby are just theater. He can go straight to hell.

Also, that they’re trying to minimize this as an issue and pretend it isn’t real is awfully telling. They know it’s very bad for them politically, they just don’t know how bad it is yet. They fucked around and they’ll find out.

That business is entitled to a cheap, docile labor force seems to be ground in to American political economy and opinion; from the halls of congress to the small town newspapers.

Happy Labor day.

The guy that that drives the truck that collects my trash on Friday is far more important to me than Senator Cassidy, a quintessential drone that sucks out the sweet liquor of society, giving next to nothing in return.

Maybe we should start questioning the TX legislature what their plans to deal with the increase in population that they created?
How much space in the NICU, or neonatal nurses will you need? There will be complications, and thus someone should make sure the stats from previous years are logged and ready to be referred.
What’s the maternal death rate in TX and infant deaths. Do they have enough Medicaid $$$ to cover the increase in births?

Thank you! I couldn’t have said it better – you came in loud and clear. Deep bow to you

Exactly.

The court’s decision should be like Dred Scot, in 1857. That decision seemed to enshrine slavery forever, but what it really did was to sound the death knell of slavery. Last week’s decision should mark the beginning of the end not just for the anti-women movement, but for the right’s entire project of power above all, democracy be damned.

Cassidy accuses Dems to distract from other issues.

Ah, it so easy to be an asshole, i.e., a Republican.

It’s also possible that the men on the SC who are letting this ride out have no idea what’s going to happen when some woman miscarries. I’m pretty sure ACB was around in IN when under Gov. Pence they arrested, and tried to jail a woman who had a miscarriage.
And again I guess I need to point out the absurdity of the GOP having an elephant has their symbol.

If it’s as terrible as people say it is, it‘ll be destroyed by the Supreme Court,”

Says a man who will never have to carry a baby for 9 months and worry about keeping a job and feeding two more kids.

I’d say Citizens United was the worst, most damaging decision to the body politic since Dredd Scott and yet there it is. And you and McConnell made sure it would be so for decades. Shame on you.
