Case Highlighting The Cruelty Of Anti-Abortion Regimes Hits The Supreme Court

And they blithely respond to real-world consequences of their extremist policies by hand-waving and, “that’s covered by the exceptions.”

Kavanaugh and Gorsuch just threw the Idaho attorney a life-line.

But Barrett might be rethinking things based on Sotomayor’s truth-telling.

It’s time for ER departments to defy the likely ugly results of this ruling and dare enforcement. Full illegitimacy for SCOTUS if this happens. They want the chips to fall? Let em fall.

That is what this case is all about. Most women’s health issues don’t involve abortion. What about the health of women generally if OB-GYNs leave a state in droves? I guess the Christian Nationalists don’t care.

We should have seen this coming, but they pulled off an ambush.

Surprise surprise that these two villains are pro-codifying the murder and maiming of pregnant women in crisis.

Anyone who has worked in the medical field for any length of time knows that the majority of physicians simply hate and fear lawsuits. There is nothing easier than second-guessing a medical decision made in a true emergency after the fact. I believe you are absolutely correct in what you think will be their decision: to symbolically support EMTALA while allowing the Ken Paxtons of the world to scare off physicians from actually making medical decisions for fear of ignorant attacks made retrospectively.

Who needs that hanging over their decision-making process?

It is just insane.

Anyone who thinks death by Sepsis is preferable should be tried for witchcraft.

And that is NOT snark.

You are right, it it just insane. Turning every Christian funamentalist prosecutor into a board of medical review is absolutely insane. Ken Paxton isn’t known for his common sense. Most of those guys are politicians who have to suck up to their local preachers.

You mean punish them for perceived promiscuity. In the case of Thomas, the porn watcher, it’s all about self-hate, as usual.

Sepsis sounds so clinical and almost benign (just pump some anti-biotics into her and she will recover just fine.) That is total bullshit. That is playing with fire for no good reason. We are going to have a lot of dead women if the Supreme Court allows this.

It doesn’t surprise me how cruel people can be. So much for so-called family values. It is disgraceful.

And the Loony SCOTUS judges are going to come off this shitshow and rule on Trump immunity tomorrow?

Maybe today is for pandering and tomorrow is for the hammer. They have scheduled these close together for a reason I would imagine.

Save the Medicare funds.
Dump the Medicare requirements.

Yep. For Republicans, it’s all about money.

Seems like you could pass laws that would apply to any health issue. Women or men.

Clogged arteries? Wait until your heart seizes up, then you can treat it.

Shredded ACL? Meh, you’ll live.

ED? Meh, you’ll live, you can still squirt out some tadpoles, right Clarence, Sam? Just have to try harder.

At least argue it.

I actually wont mind if the SCOTUS lets Idaho have it’s way. It will show Republican voting women the consequences of their preferences, and maybe a few of them see the light.

More likely:
Today is for the hammer.
Tomorrow is also for the hammer.

They’re on a mission from god to crucify the libs.
Irony be damned.
