‘Nearly Every Claim Uttered in These Ads Is False’ Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, has joined other Democrats this week in demanding answers about President Trump’s midterms campaign ads — which promote nothing but himself — and the apparent use of taxpayer dollars to finance them. I wrote…
“Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.”
CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott and his senior advisers “were not included in several meetings where the idea of spending the agency’s money on the ads was discussed,”
Democratic appropriators bashed the CBP expenditures saying Trump ads were not the intent by Congress when it appropriated CCPB funds.
Political ad-tracking firms estimates that the administration has spent more than $4 million so far on the ads…
Not “Frost”? Looks like a frosty glare.
Getting advice from Patrick Byrne, Mike Flynn and Mike Lindell seems like a particularly good idea.
Americans are deeply frustrated with President Donald Trump’s handling of the economy and rising prices.
And well we should be. I recall hearing an economic reporter, in the days leading up to Trump taking office, saying that all Trump had to do to have a good economy was do nothing. And it’s true: despite Biden getting dinged for post-Covid inflation, by the end of 2024 inflation had settled to a tolerable level, employment numbers were still good, and the economic outlook was generally rosy. Which makes it all the more impressive that Trump absolutely and completely fucked it all up. He had to actively indulge in utterly stupid ideas–tariffs, the Iran War, and so many more–in order to destroy what was a perfectly solid economy. It’s no wonder so many question whether he’s acting at the behest of a foreign govt.–it’s practically unthinkable to screw up as badly as he has without intending to.
“A lot of people think…” equals the voices in his head. He is obviously not fit for office and would be removed, if we had an actual legislative branch. Sadly, the GQP has poisoned that well in both houses of Congress.
Do you suppose the billionaire class in their Epstein Island meetings were planning out how to disassemble the United States in order to pursue their own interests unimpeded? And that, there, they found the ideal person to pull it off?
We will let the world go to hell, and we will live in our protected islands and enclaves, with Praetorian Guards to protect us doesn’t sound like a very good plan.
I gotta wonder if the shade they’re casting will get Dear Leader’s goat:
“Yet just a few short weeks ago, at his poorly-rated Republican National Convention, President Trump pleaded for his rapidly dwindling ranks of supporters to vote, begging them to ‘pretend, please, that I’m on the ballot.’ The White House can’t have it both ways.”
I get it!!!
Republicans’ “Big Beautiful Bill”
“Bill”. Much better than “Big Beautiful Invoice”.
And what did our tax dollars teach us, Republicans?
“The Insurrection Act? I’ve never used it. I could use it.”
– Donald Trump
He means he could use it for his political purposes because he has untethered power and no obligation to be truthful.
The Republican Party guarantees it.
“A lot of people think I should use the Insurrection Act. We have the best crime rates! Just look at our crime rates.”
He can’t put three sentences together without a giant non sequitur. He can talk, but he can’t think.
Yes, but their guarantee date expires soon. What Democrats do with it is anyone’s guess. But it is promising, looking forward.
We just got a letter from the IRS and I will guess that most everyone else will, too.
The purpose was to trumpet TRUMPIRA!!!11!!!111! just before the election, with vague promises about how much money you’re going to save with the NEW!!!11!! SAVER’S MATCH!!!11! by Trump™.
Anyway, it is clearly a very lightly veiled campaign ad for Trump&Friends. Conveniently coming right before the election.
-
Saver’s Match is a slightly tweaked version of existing Saver’s Credit. So nothing actual to brag about.
-
You don’t actually have to do anything until March 2028 (!) when you’ll file a slightly different form with your tax return to get the amount deposited in your account.
-
The letter doesn’t even bother explaining what you need to do at all, or when.
-
It will work whatever your IRA etc account. It also doesn’t mention that.
-
What it DOES mention most prominently is that you should go to TRUMPIRA.GOV RIGHT NOW!!!11!!1!! etc etc.
-
In fact TrumpIRA.gov doesn’t even start until Jan 1st. So conveniently timing the letter just before the election is . . . just a coincidence I guess
-
Basically (aside from lightly veiled CAMPAIGN AD) it is telling you about some things to do a while to a long time in the future in order to see no really savings or change in anything even longer in the future. But using nice words like SAVINGS and TRUMP a lot.
-
I would like to get back all the money the IRS just spent sending a letterXXXXcampaign ad to pretty much every taxpayer to inform them about TRUMPTRUMPTRUMP TRUMPTURMPRU TMRPTRU IRA and SAVINGS@@!!!@@!#!!11!!
That would be a real savings to taxpayers.
Also, apparently TrumpIRA.gov was created by an Executive Order.
I would like to know
- Exactly how Trump gets the authority to just create whole new programs out of thin air.
- Exactly how Trump and his cronies are going to profit from this.
- Exactly how it is legal to literally name it after TRUMP when it is an official government program.
Really? My first thought was “Pretty kitty.”
