It will be Blunt or Cornyn, and without a brain cell between them. I believe the findings were unanimously approved by the committee, so not sure there’s any net gain for Trump’s noise-making regardless of who the chairman is.

Senate and House committee chairs think they’re making a bold, heroic sacrifice by stepping down while under investigation, because of course being a committee chair is a huge deal within Congress. Not sure the general public views this minor step with great awe. And since the committee staff honchos are all picked by the chairman, I’m not sure anything changes except at televised hearings, if there are any.

I’m sure that’s the goal and I really don’t know how effective it’ll be outside of the Conservative Entertainment Complex. He’s accused so many people of corruption while his corruption is in plain sight, but at this point they’re like the little boy who cried wolf. It’s red meat for the base and that’s about it. Meanwhile, the rest of the country just wants competent, sane leadership. There’s no greater representation of that than Obama who’ll be giving a speech to the graduates on Saturday. I could be wrong, but I tend to think most of America doesn’t really care what Obama is accused of, they’d vote for him right now if they could.
