Anti-government activist and Idaho gubernatorial candidate Ammon Bundy on Thursday was found guilty of misdemeanor trespassing and resisting or obstructing officers over a stunt he pulled last August, when he refused to leave the state Capitol during a special session, leading state troopers to wheel him out in an office chair.
“Idaho State Police personnel determined they could not have made arrests on the spot without elevating the potential for violence,”
So being too violent is a way to avoid arrest? What if it’s combined with being black, or selling loosies, or bottles of spring water, or wearing a hoodie, or . . .
Political “genius” at work, for sure: create a faux confrontation by doing something utterly stupid, get yourself arrested (for being utterly stupid), then use your stupidity as advertising for your political campaign. That’s an example of modern republican party politics at its best.
I’m hoping it works out as well for him as it did for Tim Eyman here in WA state, whose gubernatorial run also involved wheeling an office chair out into the parking lot…
Oh…I don’t know, I’m thinking having to do a couple of months at Rikers Island getting schooled by them Northeast Libruls might beat the aforementioned Creme Pie.
