Well, 50yo white guys/parents whose kids bear grudges & wont speak to them certainly fit profile of suspect being held in UT. In fact, it’s alleged the kid had transgender lover. That conduct certainly would have had his dad aghast & is consistent with Tyler having expressed his dislike of Kirk.
The more info that comes in points to Tyler having serious cognitive dissonance between his faith, family politics & his sexual desires. The conservative media calls that mental health issues.
For an individual in the 2nd decade of life, it’s actually called human development.
And not one person in his own party that has the ability to stop his overreach will speak up or say a fucking thing. They are just there for the money and perks of the job. That’s the extent of their public service. Period. Its not about being cowards. They have no problem with any of this.
It was a Southern magnolia – magnificent trees – though I’m not sure it’s been felled yet, and I’m not sure it’s being cut down because of the ballroom. A 200-year-old Southern magnolia has already far exceeded the usual lifespan of about 80 years. News reports say the Park Service is removing whatever shrubs and trees it can to a nursery site. I hope that includes the magnolia planted under Biden’s administration (pictured below) that was started from a seed from the magnolia being taken down (if the old tree’s removal has anything to do with the clearing being made for the ballroom). I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump plans to plant palm trees around the ballroom. Does the new “rose garden” have potted palms placed among the tables and chairs on the patio?
WASHINGTON (AP) — A tree that’s nearly two centuries old will be removed from the White House grounds because it’s deteriorating, President Donald Trump said Sunday.
The southern magnolia stands near the curved portico on the south side of the building. It’s where foreign leaders are often welcomed for ceremonial visits, and where the president departs to board the Marine One helicopter.
According to the National Park Service website, “folklore tells us” that President Andrew Jackson brought the tree’s seeds from his home near Nashville, Tennessee. It was apparently planted in honor of his wife Rachel, who died shortly before he took office in 1829.
“The bad news is that everything must come to an end, and this tree is in terrible condition, a very dangerous safety hazard, at the White House Entrance, no less, and must now be removed,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, his social media platform. “This process will take place next week, and will be replaced by another, very beautiful tree.”
Trump said the wood from the tree “may be used for other high and noble purposes!!!”
The tree was significantly pruned in 2017, during Trump’s first term. It was also damaged in 1994 when a small Cessna plane crashed into the South Lawn and skidded into the White House.
From the Neither Here Nor There File: I’m taking some time out to let my soul rest; may lurk amongst the comments occasionally. But need to recover what balance is possible these days. If and when the barricades go up I’ll join y’all there.
Why in the hell has no prominent Democrat seriously questioned whether Trump has unfettered, limitless right to alter the White House and the grounds that surround it? Has the legality of this been established? What can’t he do? Seemingly he could demolish the White House and replace it with a building of his choosing, right? Have an alligator infested moat installed? WTF?

Potted palms inside, perhaps, but (for now anyway) itks too cold in the winter for outdoor palms to survive very long in DC.
I have friends who have daughters who attend both public and private universities. They are not impressed with the dude bro manosphere types who Kirk and his ilk cultivated and find they to be off putting. Not quite dating material since I don’t think they want to be trad wives. They’d rather be involved with their sororities and other activities and have study buddies.
