A good run, but we need you in the Senate. Along with Bernie…
And hopefully a role in the new administration. He’d be great at HUD.
At least now Newark residents trapped in burning buildings have something to look forward to.
That’s how it’s done, folks. Take your licks, and work for the best candidate, whomever they may be. Trump is the ENEMY, not the other candidates in your own party.
Goodbye Cory, you’re a good guy.
Too bad he isn’t a racist narcissistic sociopath. That’s what you have to be to appeal to the electorate in this country.
I continue to like Cory Booker and think he should be on any nominee’s shortlist of VP candidates.
Wish him the best back in the Senate. Seemed like a perfectly competent politician. Spent a little too much time trying to be “the most” of whatever issue was raised to gain any traction with me. The most feminist, the most experienced, the most downtrodden, the most adult, etc etc.
I’d like to see him come back and try again with a little less “trying to be.” But heck, I’m just one vote. I’m sure others might feel differently.
Makes me sad. He was my guy, after a good deal of reflection. Not clear at all who I’ll support now.
You are too cynical. Do you think Obama would not win this year?
In 2020 anti-everything that’s actually wrong with politics and our economic system anger sells, and his message of anodyne hope and unity never stood a chance.
Nice post. I, too, like him. Yes, he’s smart and evidently principled. I hope he stays around in the Senate and maybe for a cabinet position with a Dem POTUS.
A bit simplistic, especially seeing as only 45% or so of voters went for that in 2016. But running on generic hope and unity isn’t the answer to that. You have to bore down into the details to win, like Sanders and Warren. Uncle Joe’s appeal is nostalgia and the Obama connection, and it won’t be enough. Anti-Trump & GOP anger PLUS detailed solutions is the ticket this year.
Not so much. Vermont’s solid blue, if Bernie goes, it’ll be another lock-in Democratic seat.
I agree. I have liked him since his time as Mayor of Newark.
It is sad that we have lost so many minority candidates.
I am concerned that the inevitable Russianbot “Democrats don’t support Blacks or Hispanics” memes will find traction.
I don’t think Bernie is racist… just racially tone-deaf.
Agreed, but was inelegantly stating that Bernie needs to stay where he is, the Senate.
Better out of politics.
Though I did, Phil Scott is a Republican and Vermont’s current governor.
