‘I Know Antifa Is Part of That’ Attorney General Pam Bondi repeatedly skirted attempts on Wednesday by Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA) to get answers about Trump administration directives from September, which included the National Security Presidential Memorandum (NPSM-7), that cast a bunch of non-controversial ideas — “anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity” — as worthy of…
I’m less concerned with who is showing up on the NPSM -7.
I am more concerned about Bondi’s boss who is showing up several times in the DSM – 5. I would want to keep that person away from anything involving national security.
Can we please take TSA out of the equation as well?
The one thing I took away from what I heard from Blondi (since I was unable to watch the hearings) is that she is a very scared, nay terrified, bully. She knows she’s getting cornered. She knows the jig is very nearly up. She isn’t going to be able to stop the avalanche once a few more tons of snow are broken loose.
Europe is going to do her job that she refuses to do: not only to reveal many very powerful people in the Epstein files, but most importantly, the First Felon. He’s going down. He knows it. She knows it and she is powerless to stop it. Those that will reveal the truth are outside the jurisdiction for anything that she or the First Felon manage.
A very scared and unrepentant bully showed herself today, for all to see.
“Immigration and Customs Enforcement cannot be abolished, but I will not provide a single dime of funding until we see radical changes in how it operates,” DeLauro said in a statement.
Did I miss the announcement that ICE can not be abolished and the reasons why? If they stop funding it, they will eventually run out of money. I don’t think any of those goons will work for free.
On YouTube, The Daily Show posted a short of Pam Bondi. It was just a clip from her rant today, talking about how we’re all picking on Trump to distract from all the great things he’s doing.
They didn’t have to add anything. They didn’t have to put a note or a headline. Pam Bondi’s own words were so ridiculous as to be a joke with setup and punchline all on their own. Nothing needed to be added.
Pam Bondi is a joke.
We will get the last laugh, especially if Donald Trump pardons her, then we can force her to testify and there’s no way she can take the fifth.
I forgot to laugh…..
If you have to explain it, it’s not funny…..
Dems were doing what they could to talk over her shrill mean-girl act. But I don’t think any of them asked her who was Attorney General in Fla in the Epstein years.
It was… Pam Bondi… surprise!
Well before Barr & Garland failed to prosecute.
Before I state this “conspiracy theory”, be advised that there are practical reasons why it wouldn’t work:
Donald Trump is selling Venezuelan oil that he has stolen on the high seas, like a pirate, and putting the proceeds in overseas accounts. He is building a war chest that is not accountable to anybody. He is doing his very best to undermine congress’s constitutional role.
Her net worth is dependent upon her accepting whatever she can get from the First Felon.
And it’s a shame that no one pointed that out in the hearings.
“Bondi not only refused to give any specifics about the “list” — beyond declaring that “antifa” is on it — but she also would not commit to sharing that information with Congress:“
So some not organized, invisible group of anti-fascists is on a “list” of anti-American rabble rousers?
Makes sense to me.
kris.and.dave:
“Pam Bondi is the kind of woman who will sacrifice other women so a man will pat her on the head and tell her good girl.”
Not exactly the integrity that you would be looking for in an honest Attorney General.
P. Bondi and G. Maxwell seem to be made of the same sort of stuff.
I think she’s interested in more than a pat on the head.
On the basis of no information at all, I suspect that TSA is helping ICE and CBP by providing them read/write access to their no fly database. It would be consistent with the answers that have surfaced thus far–the official denial of the existence of a specific DHS database while their agents tell people, “We’re going to add you to the database.” TSA isn’t DHS, it is an agency within DHS, so the no-fly database isn’t a DHS database.
It’s exactly the kind of too-cute-by-half thing they seem to consistently do.
Well, we need some sort of customs service to kinda, sorta try to control smuggling. Even if we decided to open up immigration (and there’s no chance of that in the current political environment) we would need an immigration service just to keep track of who is here and what their status is.
What we don’t need is ICE and CBP in their current form, and their current collection of employees have destroyed the already questionable cultures of those agencies. Yes, we need the functions–but we don’t need the current employees. I’m going to be charitable and interpret DeLauro’s statement as meaning that the functions have to be performed.
I don’t know how you accomplish that without abolishing ICE/CBP, but I’m not an immigration policy wonk. Perhaps I’m more pessimistic than DeLauro in that I don’t think the current crop of employees can be trusted to follow laws enacted by Congress.
This is probably a really bad idea, but we already have (at least) two organizations that are law enforcement organizations with a primary task of controlling contraband, namely ATF and DEA.
Obviously these agencies do not have experience at the border, but theoretically this is the kind of thing that should be in there brief.
Theoretically.
The primary reason we would want to keep track of the status of anyone in the country, after law enforcement which we should reject in a free society, would be tax law. In other words, we should expand the IRS to do this.
The primary tool for controlling immigration in most of the world is tax law, and I think we could be extremely effective using this method in America.
We could also add a department of refugees, with a mandate to assist refugees with resettlement, handle asylum claims, etc.
I have to say I agree with Samantha Bee. There is only one word for women like Pam Bondi…
And that word is:
FECKLESS
Americans have never tolerated political demagogues who use the government to punish people on an enemies list.
Um. Americans tolerated Joseph McCarthy’s witch hunt for nearly five years.
Coincidence?
Come on, Pam. Is there a domestic terrorist living next door to me? Is my councilman a domestic terrorist? How about my granddaughter’s pastor? Is he a domestic terrorist? I worry, and I need to know.
