Bail now, Doc, while you still have a smidgen of a reputation left.

Tell the world about all the shit Fat Nixon and his cronies have pulled regarding the pathetic Trumpandemic response.

She should’ve left long ago. Like Redfield, her credibility is looking up at zero.

“,Birx’s distress is rooted in the addition of Dr. Scott Atlas, who peddles misleading but Trump-friendly talking points…”

She probably can rat on Trump and skyrocket to 10% credibility.

She sold her soul and credibility in exchange for the attention and authority.

It never ends well for those who strike a Faustian bargain with trump.

So, a 30 point bump?

I think that point is way, way back in her rearview mirror.

Besides she was not Trump’s type in any way. Trump prefer loud crackpots like Scott Atlas.

I feel a little sad for her.

I recall her “deer eyes caught in headlights” response when Trumplethinskin started talking about injecting disinfectant and shining bright lights in orifices. Can you imagine the horror she felt in that moment? Her mistake was not correcting his incorrect suggestions and accepting the consequences, but she likely felt that it was in the best interest of the public that she continue to try to steer things.

She did not fully understand. Trump didn’t want a correct trajectory. He wanted attention and he wanted cover. He got both, and she got screwed.

I always thought she was sort of a mother figure for him. Maybe trump’s entered his rebellion stage with her.

“The President has found somebody who matches what he wants to believe,” a source told CNN. “There is no doubt that she feels that her role has been diminished.”

Those weren’t deer in the headlight eyes. They were the eyes of a willing enabler.

I don’t.

I used to, but she should have left the moment when Atlas was named a panel member.

oh well

That’ll be in her obituary. It’s a kind of Ruby-kills-Oswald moment where she’s reacting in real time as the president of the United States says something so staggeringly moronic that everyone who hears it is thunderstruck.

I don’t. I first notice her existence when she was nodding to Trump’s nonsense in a press conference, blaming Obama and bragging about much better he was doing things. How many of the 200K deaths can be attributed to her officiousness? Who knows, but is a non-zero number.

If she had refused to lie for Trump, yes, she would have been fired right on the spot and and a more pliant lackey would had been be brought in. But at least her conscience and reputation would be intact.

The iron law of the Trump administration is that competence is fatal.

Atlas’ specialty is neuroradiology. Neuroradiology is a subspecialty of radiology focusing on the diagnosis and characterization of abnormalities of the central (i.e. brain) and peripheral nervous system.

He can diagnose Trump and Trump can have executive privilege over their conversations.
