Biggs Demands McCarthy To Oust Both GOPers On Jan. 6 Panel After It Requests His Phone Records | Talking Points Memo

This feels like a kind of secession.

The legitimate investigative operations of government are something from which an entire political party feels the need to defend itself.

They’re not really part of our country anymore, are they?

I have been avoiding over anticipating what these idiots were up to. However, they are doing a good job of convincing me that they were up to nefarious and traitorous acts.

Refreshing beverages anyone? At this point we might as well settle in and order the pizzas.

I volunteer to be one who pushes the eligible into a pit full of vipers–for their health, of course.

He’s referring to the House GQP conference not the Jan.6 Democratic led investigation committee.

Biggs is squealing like a stuck pig.

Or is it like a traitor soon to be caught.

Might be to their benefit then.

Biggs is my Rep. He emails me a weekly news letter that consists of GOP talking points. I always answer his email with a question. This time I’ll ask him if he has anything to hide and, if not, why not gladly comply with the Committe’s request in order to, you know, show how trustworthy he is.

I used to think that no one could be that stupid.

I stand corrected.

Though the request isn’t to Biggs, it’s to the social media and telecommunications companies about his communications (among others), so he can’t comply with it himself. But you could ask him why he’s making such a big stink about it, I suppose.

Right you are, thanks for the correction.

He makes it sound like meetings in the Pentagon where they are studying a war strategy. Perhaps that’s the problem with our current politicians. It is a war to them and they will do whatever it takes to win.

What if, say 20 or so Republican Congresscritters are shown to have planned, aided or abetted the insurrection on the 6th? Along with Trump, and other players? Then what? This will truly be a Constitutional Crisis, as it should be, but seriously, what will happen? Ginny Thomas (Supreme Court justice wife) is known to have financed busses for Jan 6th, and nothing has happened about that.
Somebody throw me a bone!

So can strychnine, but the side effects can be troublesome. For a while.

Well… We know what Biggs wants. And what he does not want:
For us to know…

The “I-don’t-want-them-to-know” theme comes up a lot in politics…the public figures–when finally caught–comprise a veritable Rouge’s Gallery…

In years past, before Trumpism, there was far little Bluster of guilty people…oh…some would get petulant, but the Bluster was far more subdued.

Trump changed that.

And, for most of us adults, we react accordingly. We take the Performance Art and start dividing–to get the actual realities–by two…or four.

Or ten.

Reminds me of the old canard in the ‘nuclear age’ of Duck And Cover.

I can just hide under my desk to avoid the implosion that is happening on the horizon.

Actions have outcomes and this may be yours. If you are not a turtle, you are toast!

Biggs’ concern makes me happy.

Asshole should have thought of that before he joined the sedition caucus.

I was going to make a joke about this being Bigg’s house, it’s not. It’s a house in the path of the Caldor Fire near Lake Tahoe. The owners really don’t want it to burn. Pretty creative.

Be cool they filled it 1/3 full with popcorn kernels before they left.
