Big Win For Voting Rights As Judge Blocks Trump EO

RE: Hogan’s Heroes. I’m shocked it appeared only 20 years after WWII. The old formula is tragedy plus time = comedy, but still just 20 years…? I cannot do this justice, but I have a memory of a comic (maybe Gilbert Gottfried?) imagining the original pitch meeting for the show. “Is set in WWII, in a prisoner of war camp, it’s got barbed wire, guards, it’s got Nazis, it’s got Gestapo…annnnnn…it’s a COMEDY!”

Saw that auto sculpture in the 1970’s before the painted artwork was applied.

I think you’re correct - I did look it up after I posted and it doesn’t seem to be the case. Thanks for clarifying. I had read that somewhere and it wasn’t right.

Though here in California pretty much anywhere you want to visit is within 100 miles.

Texas is a great state to say I “escaped from”.

Mel Brooks’ movie “The Producers” was released in 1967, to some controversy. But it’s a different kind of comedy from “Hogan’s Heroes” – dark, satirical. Like “Hogan’s Heroes,” it mocks the Nazi’s, but unlike the sitcom it doesn’t make any of them lovable.

Love CA. wish to see more of it.

Late 80s, working a trade show in SFO, went to lunch with my boss, my bosses boss and our biggest customer. Mormon George.

Went into this Chinese place and we were the only white people in the room so I knew the food would be great.

Waiter comes around with the tea and George demands to know if it’s black tea or green tea. Man obviously speaks no English and jus nods and smiles and Mormon George just starts yelling at him.

I had to STFU but just wanted to crawl under the table.

It was dim-sum. Awesome~

I’m assuming that her setup was outdoors. Someone should pester him about his bald spot.
