There are many negative indicators on a broad range of current issues. The economy, foreign relations, climate, healthcare. The list is long. Yet Trump possesses, for the most part, an iron grip on government that renders him immune to the usual consequences of failed policies.
In January of 1942, with the U.S. barely a month into declared war, Nazi military intelligence compiled a report that concluded the war effort was doomed, and Germany would be the loser. All due to horrendous losses in men and material in the idiotic Barbarossa invasion of Russia. Yet Hitler, because of his cult of personality and ruthless elimination of internal opponents and organized dissent, nevertheless persisted in his destruction of the planet for many years.
Trump is a failed President. It’s apparent to anyone dissecting this term. Yet he’ll persist in his destruction, through his cult of personality and his reign of terror, waged on those seeking to shed light on all of it. The parallels to 1930’s-early 1940’s Germany are eerie, and apt.

Just how much of Donnie’s insanity is flat out market manipulation remains an open question.

Uthmeier stepping in, however, “was horrific — beneficial to my client, maybe, in some weird sense — but I don’t think it’s appropriate for any politician to get involved in the system,” said O’Mara, who had previously denied seeking the attorney general’s involvement in the matter.
Allgeo’s case was among several mentioned in letters to Uthmeier and Gov. Ron DeSantis sent by Worrell’s office earlier this month, following a barrage of attacks against the state attorney’s handling of certain cases in the months since Worrell was reelected. The letters accused Uthmeier of trying to “manufacture a pretext” to remove Worrell from office, as DeSantis did in 2023.
