WASHINGTON (AP) — Some dramatic moves on immigration are expected in the early days of the Biden administration.
Fast Executive Action is necessary. The GOP Senate will be obstructionists on Day One.
Biden will need forensic auditors and pre-Trump era employees to piece together the institutional damage. The damage at State and the EPA began within a month of Trump’s arrival. Since much of the harm was done by embedded legal teams, it is going be hard to figure out where some of the damage is.

And so much more of the damage is being done by Trump loyalists that he is continuing to pack into Federal departments. They too need to be rooted out and fired (something we know Trump loves).
GOOD for him. That damn disco thingy would not let me post just the word good! What’s up with that?
Include some markup code next time—it won’t print, but the system will recognize it as lower-case. Simplest is probably < p > with the spaces removed.
Break up Homeland and clean up the thug departments. If you were one of the little green men, you’re on notice—one toe out of line and you’re gone. Or fire them all in stages and rehire people with acceptable psychological profiles, that’d be fine too. No more private armies for rogue presidents.
Thanks for the tip.
Seriously!
Some real unrepentant thugs in ICE
They probably know how to work it. A lot of the people he’s turning to are good old-fashioned experts, either from working in government, studying government and policy, or both. I can’t wait for Trump’s toxic sludge pit to be cleaned out! I want a healthy environmentally thriving swamp back!
that Trump was ever President.
Among the transition advisers named recently are veterans of the Obama Administration.
And some of those were carried over from the previous administration.
It’ll be especially good to see changes at DHS and Interior.
Biden wants to get rid of policies that have been “detrimental” to seeking asylum — such as the policy to make asylum-seekers wait in Mexico for hearings in U.S. immigration court — but he is expected to move cautiously to avoid triggering more arrivals.
Of course, what’s really needed is more funding for the immigration courts. I’m sure Mitch will get right on board with that one. Yeah, that’s it…
Was thinking the same. Executive order declaring that Trump did not exist as a president or a person. Can he do that?
Yes, anything will be better than Team Trump.
But at DHS, Obama-Biden had – and encouraged – some seemingly heartless employees, especially with regard to deportations.
We’ll see how Biden-Harris does.
