I think it’s because we’ve all heard the stories about people being really sick after the second shot - and that after the first shot you have a very high percent of coverage - so they figure I don’t want to get sick 1) haven’t been sick in a year and enjoying a flueless/coldless year 2) can’t take time off work 3) no one to take care of kids/ parents / dog if I get sick for a day or so.
I think it would be useful to get the story out that most people (not sure if this is true but my guess would be yes from what I’ve heard from friends) don’t have any major side effects - just a sore arm for a day or two.
