Biden Still Set To Attend Fundraiser Hosted By Gas Company Exec

The director of finance doesn’t fund the campaign. He coordinates the funding, which is not remotely the same thing. The donation limits remain the same—$2800 max per single donor, and twice that for couples.

Again, getting donations doesn’t equal doing with the donor wants you to do.

Biden doesn’t promise anything but to replace Trump and his rich people with another set of establishment rich people.

This is both-siderism ad absurdum. A Biden presidency would look so different from a Trump presidency that you wouldn’t know the two were in the same category, even if Joe takes the full-on Dem establishment route.

Where’s your proof?

Please provide links to any credible source where Biden says this.

Trump and his rich people are all fascist white supremacist motherfuckers. I will be happy to see them replaced with rich people who aren’t.

Oh, goody. :unamused:

Exactly! He’s Joe’s friend, so he’s cool. I’m sure he’s totally in favor of serious action on climate change, because Joe wouldn’t be friends with someone who wasn’t. You know, like Joe’s friends in the credit card industry. Totally public spirited. And when Joe’s president and his Republican friends in the Senate come around, you’re gonna see serious action. It’ll be a big fuckin’ deal!

I’m sure his big buck donors lapped that up like kittens to a saucer of milk.

I see we’re entering the “there’s no difference between Joe Biden & Trump” phase already.

Of course, Trump has attracted 2nd tier billionaires and Biden would expect 1st tier billionaires to support his administration. That would be an improvement. Neither tier of billionaires have shown any real interest in the welfare and future of regular Americans. The Trump billionaires don’t give a shit about regular Americans. The Democratic establishment only cares to the extent that it can separate regular people from their money and their votes. I am sorry, but maybe the oligarchy in America needs a check and a balance so regular people have a chance at a future.

Yes, and with the usual suspects who made 2016 soooo much fun.

Well, gee, it seems to logically follow that a candidate who meets with the approval of energy company executives is likely to follow policies that please said executive.

If you think “caring about climate change” is a “purity test”, I don’t know what to say. But centrists have successfully watered down the party hierarchy to the point where nobody knows quite what any leading Democrats actually stand for.

The disingenuousness in this thread is remarkable.

Call me when the phrase “purity test” is abandoned forever. It’s absurdly over-used to denigrate a host of traditional liberal concerns. For most of 2016, “caring about the economy” was derided as a “purity test” by Clinton fans. Her indifference likely cost her the election and left us where we are today.

Were you laughing hysterically as typed this, are are you just that completely uninformed?

Yeah, but there really isn’t much of a constituency for “rich people who are assholes, but not really big assholes.”

This kind of stance sells very well at Democratic cocktail parties, but it hasn’t been doing that well at the polls.

I’m sure the Bolshevik purists are up arms about this.

Sorry; been having trouble when copying links and headlines at same time recently.

So, now I see what I did. I’ll correct above.
