Former Vice President Joe Biden said during a virtual fundraiser Friday night that he has spoken with both Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and former President Barack Obama about choosing his running mate.

Not sure why he’s talking to Sanders unless he’s asking him to give it up.

What a breath of fresh air to see a Biden story at last.
I think I’ll pop over to one his virtual happy hours this week.

Bernie is still in this? There’s still a primary going on?

Bernie is like one of those soldiers discovered on a south seas island, years later, and nobody had told them the war was over.

If presidential nominees do background checks on possible veeps, we the people deserve background checks on anyone who files papers to run for the top job. You aren’t allowed on any ballot without one.

Bernie: :expressionless:

I’m sure he was totally on board with helping Joe.

I think the article is suggesting Biden spoke with Bernie out of a sense of decency and courtesy. That he’s not presuming anything, but he needs to prepare for a likely nomination. It’s just another thing I like about him. He lets people save face.

I would love to know what Obama advised. I’m guessing a woman to balance the ticket. And probably someone relatively young. Beyond that, in terms of person of color or a particular type of personality, or even specific people, I’m not sure.

Biden: “I don’t want him to think I’m being presumptuous, but you have to start now deciding who you’re going to have background checks done on as potential vice presidential candidates, and it takes time."

Right move – and right approach.

Hey, how are your two Senators doing health-wise? Has the senior senator gotten sick yet?

Too white, and he doesn’t want staplers thrown at him, he’s not as nimble as he used to be.

I would be 100% shocked if his VP was not a female POC.

Bernie is becoming less relevant with each passing day.

He had the gall to email New Yorkers to rally around his campaign. He’s looking for phone bank volunteers. W.T.F.
He could have reached out to them in an empathetic way, but no.

I’ve also seen Senator Cortez-Masto floated and Governor Whitmer. Any thoughts there?
