People REALLY LIKE when the president is aggressive about getting shit done that actually helps them. Even a quarter of R’s approve Biden’s performance so far (sounds like nothing but Clinton during the ridiculous impeachment is the last time a Dem can claim that). And yes, ‘the left’ is extremely pleasantly surprised. VERY LITTLE griping from the sites I visit. They just want to see it continue.

Back when knocking on doors was a thing, the goal was to find Republicans who’d at least listen to you and show them that in many ways we weren’t as far apart as they’d been told. That was seen as an achievable goal, because with the reasonable ones it is. So I’m sure that Democrats can reach out to other Democrats and find common ground, because we’re seeing that too. Kumbayah, everyone.

Speaking of channels, I always had to give Pence credit for having learned on his talk show how to talk and say nothing in that radio-smooth kind of way. I think he should go back to Indiana and be a radio guy again, giving the corn prices and tornado watches and today’s special down at the diner is the open-faced turkey sandwich lunch for $4.99. Free fillups on coffee every day of the week! I really see that as his natural level.

Yes, and I’m concerned that without a more fully throated act or process change against this behavior these memos merely become the cookie cutter template to use for future oppression the next time a republican despot gets into office.
This isn’t a “policy choice” to be made at the leisure of the current administration.

In 2000-2001 we lived in New Orleans. Way down at the far left hand side of the dial there was a radio station for the blind. Every morning they read the paper. The entire paper. Including the supermarket circulars. “Bananas 39 cents a pound. Ripe tomatoes 49 cents a pound …” it was fantastic. I loved it.
