Biden likely knows he has this done, and gets this strong statement of bold leadership free of charge. Tester says they’ll get plenty of GOP votes for the smaller bill.
So cute Republicans think they can control the process by holding exactly zero houses of Congress or the Executive Branch.
Elections have consequences when Democrats win too, though you might not realize it with their bratty, entitled behavior.
If he’s only indicted on tax fraud, I predict it won’t make a dent in his MAGAt support. The rubes expect rich people to minimize their taxes, sticking it to The Man. They’d cheat on their taxes too if they made enough money to pay any. What might make a dent is money laundering, especially if it’s tied to Russia, but I’m not even sure about that. Most of that crowd wouldn’t’ even understand what that term means.
From the linked article, “I think Mitch McConnell wants infrastructure as much as anyone else. He wants the jobs that this will create.” Where the hell did Cassidy get that idea?
Cassidy is just making shit up. McConnell doesn’t want anything that helps Dems (and Biden), ordinary people, or the country. If it doesn’t line the pockets of the already rich or cement his hold on power in some way, he’s not interested.
Why not let them go after her? But on the other hand why respond at all. One person, Laura, saying something totally stupid should be ignored. Now if Laura can get Tucker on board…well then we can use their own words against them, but until a RW male takes Laura’s talking point then she just one person talking smack.
Biden should give Barrasso and the rest of the ignoranti unqualified assurance that he won’t use reconciliation to pass any legislation. Something about separation of powers comes to mind, but that does not compute with the GQP fixation on an authoritarian presidency.
Biden should assure Em-Barrasso he won’t go any further than Trump in his use of Executive Branch powers and privilege. I’m sure that’ll reassure him, no?
“Anyone may arrange his affairs so that his taxes shall be as low as possible; he is not bound to choose that pattern which best pays the Treasury; there is not even a patriotic duty to increase one’s taxes.” - Judge Learned Hand in Helvering v. Gregory (1934)
