White House press secretary Jen Psaki said on Tuesday that President Biden called Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss, among other matters, renewing a soon-to-expire nuclear arsenal treaty and the recently reported massive SolarWinds hack.
Was he using Jared’s back-channel line?
I wonder if Jared still is.
Now why do I think Biden might actually have prepped for that call, and that appropriate administration officials were also in on the call?
Vlad was smiling throughout the conversation with Joe. He still cannot believe how successful he was with trump. Sure, someone smarter that trump would have been much better - might still be there. But the chaos trump sowed exceeded his wildest dreams.

Better than a “wide” stance
The read out of that call comes off as messaging to a variety of parties who need to hear it. Not just us but to people who have been waiting to see if Putin has pull.
This specifically:
“reaffirmed during the call the United States’ strong support for Ukraine sovereignty”
It’s going to be hard for Biden to improve on Trump’s perfect call(s).
Putin was asked to release the Pee Tapes as a condition of further cooperation…

The most important change with Joe Biden becoming president may very well be the fact that Vladimir Putin is no longer the most powerful man in America and therefore the world.
