how to provide intelligence information if at any point the former president Trump requests a briefing,” Psaki said.

Hmmmmmmmm… how do I say this discreetly?

How about a Big Mac? He’ll want one of those stat! Besides, what’s to stop the regular chats with his boy band, he’ll get the information directly from McConnell, Putin, Kim Jong Il, McCarthy… you know, the unadulterated intelligence.

If Trump receives intelligence briefings, he will sell the information, through intermediaries if necessary, because he and his family are always hard up for money.

Anything that has to do with tRump and intelligence is an oxymoron.

Trump didn’t care about the intelligence briefings when he was in office. The biggest blow to his information gathering has been Fox News cancelling Lou Dobbs.

Serious question: Did Trump EVER receive intelligence briefings?

As far as I’m concerned, the only thing Donnie should get is a substantial prison sentence.
Giving him unwarranted intelligence briefings is just standing on ceremony or ameliorating his supporters.
ETA: It’s not worth the risk to the country.

Oooooorrr… they could give him specialized fake information and then wait to see where it turns up (Russia, Saudi Arabia, etc.). It’s an old trick, but it would work with the Mango Menace.

Except Putin isn’t stupid enough to fall for it.

ETA: Then again, the national security folks who actually care about national security may have been doing this for the last couple of years at least, since they realized just how dangerous and irredeemable he is.

Maybe I’ve missed it, but I haven’t heard a single Republican, so far, complain about Trump’s access to Intelligence being pulled. See, we can find unity.

Recall that he gave Israel’s top level intelligence to Russia in the oval office on day one as an interest payment on his debts to Putin. He is and has been untrustworthy with intelligence information from the beginning.

Recall also, too, he denied President Elect Biden intel briefings. People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw boomerangs.

At minimum, the decision should be delayed until it is determined, by both the Senate and any involved court of law, if Donnie’s guilty of inciting insurrection.
Obviously, someone who has tried to overthrow a country’s government isn’t privy to its secrets.

He did . . . but the people briefing him quickly learned to keep them, um, brief.

There were also reports that he’d dispute what those briefings said, especially with regard to Russia.

I think this is right. Curious–and important.

Comey briefed him in Trump Tower about the PP tape, but that was pre-inauguration.

Like other Fox viewers, he doesn’t know what to “think” or say unless Fox tells him.

The cheques should come in an envelope marked BIDEN BUCKS and be signed ‘Your Uncle Joe’ in gold ink. Why not? A precedent has been set.

Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, George Bush Jr, and Barack Obama all still receive intelligence briefings. That’s because they’ve achieved a certain level of wisdom and are worth consulting or asking diplomatic favors of, upon occasion. Things like getting political prisoners released, as perhaps the most “showy.”

Trump hasn’t done one smart or worthwhile thing while in office, and probably not before, either. He has no “policies” or even “principles” other than grabbing everything he can with his stubby little hands and hurting the maximum number of people - that is, “rubes.” Anything he might say, any advice he might give, is worthless.

Plus, you know he’d just hand over the briefing materials to whoever would pay the most.

In a conciliatory gesture, President Biden has offered to give tRump stupidity briefings.

He wouldn’t get those either.
