Biden Holds His First Solo Press Conference As POTUS | Talking Points Memo

I hope someone takes the opportunity to ask President Biden exactly when those who receive Social Security and have not received their stimulus are going get it. It turns out that the Social Security Administration (not surprisingly run by tRump appointee Andrew Saul) failed to turn over the data to the IRS, so they know who to send the stimulus payment to. Over 30 million SS recipients have not received their stimulus. Completely unforgivable. Heads need to roll on this. They have caused pain and suffering among our most vulnerable.

ā€œAnd hereā€™s the deal, my Rep colleagues are going to have to decide if we are going to be able to work together or if they want to continue the divide the country. Iā€™m not going to do that. Iā€™m just moving forwardā€

You gotta love the ā€œhiredā€

Of course. The real ā€œDeep Stateā€ was always the conservative saboteurs and all their yelling about a deep state was always ALWAYS nothing more than their usual projection.

Will be interesting to see how the Right paints him as incoherent and irrational and unable to perform.

You know they will.

Heā€™s comparing the increase in unaccompanied children coming to the border - and pointing out that it was a 31% increase in 2019 under Trump. Itā€™s not because he is the president now, it happens every year at this time of year.

And talks about the funding that he helped put in place for the countries the people are leaving when he was in the senate, but Trump cut all of that funding, dismantled it.

He is citing the fact that Jan-Mar are always big months for immigration due to the weather. Less of a chance of dying from the heat.

Of the children coming, 70% are 16 and 17 years old. No one is ripping babies from their mothers.

Exactly. So far, he is giving sound, logical reasons for a very tough situation, which is the only way to handle this.

The media is exacerbating the situation, in my opinion.
