I don’t think Blanton knew Donnie, I think Blanton knew someone who knew Donnie. Who is Blanton’s BIL, or where did he work prior to becoming the Architect of the Capitol? Has anyone checked the accounts that this guy had access to?

At another point in the hearing, Blanton said that he took his government car to vacation locales that featured “military airlift” capabilities in case he had to return to the Capitol on short notice.
