This would’ve been effective ten months ago. However, now, masks are available pretty much everywhere. Those establishments that are truly customer-friendly provide masks to their customers should they not have one (whether they forgot or are just obstinate). I sell a dozen or so a shift at Target and they aren’t that expensive (under five bucks).

I don’t hear anyone complaining that they can’t come across a mask anymore. Save the money and don’t put this pressure on the USPS (especially while DeJoy and the Governors are still in place - when are they getting canned, already???).

This is a good public service thing, but way too late in the equation.

Yeah, anyone not wearing a mask these days is by their (foolish) choice, not because they don’t have one.

And the people who don’t wear them largely don’t wear them because they refuse to.

However, they do cost a fair bit of money, and some can’t afford the recurring expense…so there’s that to consider too. Maybe means tested distribution?

HERE is where we can save money to ‘compromise’ with the Republicans. We’ll give on this and save the mailing/mask costs and instead make sure people can eat during the pandemic.

The masks we sell are washable. We also sell boxes of the paper ones. I suggest that they really deeply look at this suggestion and the actual need for it before overwhelming the system and sending resources to folks that don’t need them. Means tested might be reasonable, but we’re having trouble figuring that out with the checks.

Maybe, if you need a check, you get a mask?

On the subject of direct deposits, though, I was mailed the check two times. And my bank information is with both the IRS and the Social Security Administration.
