Tying coronavirus response to single payer is not evidence based thinking. Look at Italy, for example.
Why are such ads not running everywhere at this very moment?
Can’t we blame Sanders? We could just make something up and laugh at it. For example:
Jesus … think of the balloons, all unblown and wasted.
I’m only for it if you’re chumming the water to attract the sharks he’s so afraid of so that way he can participate in the existential fear he brought to everyone in this country.
Short of that, I’d settle for hanging him in a gibbet, offering past due produce to the gathered crowd, putting him on national television and keeping him apprised of the ratings.
Nice touch.
Since my candidate can only win if Biden falls too ill to continue, we must fact the fact that Ol’ Joe is the nominee. A convention, be it virtual or actual, would amount to a vanity parade. Joe, Barack, Bernie, and he DNC leadership should put their heads together (via Skype) and select a VP and work up a hope-based platform. But PLEASE keep Bill and Hillary away from the phones while you work, guys.
Thanks.
I hate those balloons. I probably pick up one every time I walk down the beach here and that’s 3 times a week. They’re an environmental disaster.
Jesus … think of the balloons, all unblown and wasted.
And all the young horny idealistic volunteers, what are they to do? So many opportunities lost!
The oceans are already stressed by climate change. It would be more appropriate to let Pvt. Bone Spurs lead the way for the Space Farce: “NASA should NOT be talking about going to the Moon - We did that 50 years ago. They should be focused on the much bigger things we are doing, including Mars (of which the Moon is a part), Defense and Science!”
I would call this a “no brainer”. I thought this was an obvious necessity as soon as COVID-19 started to surface in the U.S., say 6 weeks ago. It is also straightforward to implement, if work starts on it now.
Hey, just consider how lucky you are, having the option to walk up and down a beach three times a week. What I would give …
Just thinking of a more economical plan that wouldn’t add to the national budget disaster that’s in the works. No fossil fuels involved and getting rid of a tub of lard in a leaky old canoe. It’s a win win.
I think it’s a mistake if you don’t have to. A boring convention is no convention at all. And this would most certainly be a snoozer. It’s the rough equivalent of the “opposing party’s response” to the State of the Union. The prez gets up in front of an audience, has the advantage of a real event. Then here comes the response, even when the speaker has talent, it’s just not a preferred way to get the upper hand in a political contest.
Well, that’s what they’ve been for a while now.
We reformed the process so that nominees weren’t so obviously anointed by power-brokers in “smoke-filled rooms.” Voters were to be allowed choices and the power to choose. As a result, “nominating conventions” necessarily became anti-climactic in principle.
I seriously doubt Biden is the man to usher in M4A. It’s against everything he has stood for in the Senate and as VP.
A plan to expand the ACA that has the support of both the drug and the insurance industry is what Joe will end up with. Even if he did support M4A, Biden would never get it through Congress. Remember, a public option could not pass with nearly a super majority of Democrats in Control of the Senate. We controlled all three branches of government and came up with a drug/insurance industry friendly ACA. Nothing on immigration reform via Congress. Things have not changed. Bernie or Warren would never get M4A through Congress either. Sure, Lieberman and Blanche Lincoln are gone, but we have others of their ilk to take their place. I’m not hopeful anything will change because of this pandemic.
Where are you? Wait long enough and the shoreline just may come to you.
That’s good. Grew up by the beach. Miss it desperately.
I know I’m lucky that way and if I’m careful and go with cloudy, strong winded days there aren’t that many people. I am doing a little trash collection in addition to watching birds.
Indeed. That albatross should never be removed from their scrawny necks.
