He’s not wrong. He’s just using the wrong demographics. He is saying the majority, but left out the words, of the base. Last night saw a large block of voters who voted last night he didn’t count. Independents and Revanchist republicans.
We saw this in the 2018-19 special elections in the south. They gave Biden more votes last night in Va than both Hillary and Bernie got in 16 by more than 100K votes.
Let me say that again, more people voted just for Joe than Bernie and Hillary got in 2016.
Yet in 16 there two choices that were less than what Biden had alone. So Bernie got his, pete and Amy got theirs, but Joe got more than all of the 16 amount and then some.
Revanchist movements are a rare political occurrence but are effective if capitalized upon. We only had this happen in the US over 120 years ago which led to the progressive era T. Roosevelt days. Bernie would kill that chance. They may only be 5-8% of the vote but they come from the other sides camp, which means it can mean a 10-15% change.
I’d also recommend against using inflammatory rhetoric about people who are putatively allies, and maybe don’t make a bunch of assumptions that aren’t valid, and don’t make arguments by assertion, I mean hate to be a backseat driver and I like these people but damn. Who puts people second? Who’s sold his or her soul? Da fuq? And thanks for not likening Biden to the devil, that’s very, uh, circumspect.
More voters, yippee! I’d like to think all those voter registration forms & GOTV postcards we sent to Virginia made a difference. That is a hopeful sign!
I also have Warren-supporter friends in my liberal bubble who did the math & voted for Biden. Wanted their vote to make a difference and didn’t trust Bernie.
Yes, and Joe needs to loudly and repeatedly commit to making concrete progress on healthcare, wages, and the environment. Let’s pray he can keep it together until November.
In his speeches, Mr. Sanders is more passionate about his disdain for Republican nominee Donald Trump than he is enthusiastic about Mrs. Clinton. He offers no anecdotes about the former secretary of state, or testimonials to her experience or leadership.
“This campaign is not a personality contest,” he told several hundred people at the United Auto Workers hall here. “I understand that neither Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump are particularly popular. I get that.”
I’m closer to them position-wise than to most of the people they call “centrists,” actually. I’d love to see single payer happen. I just don’t want us to commit national suicide in the process of moving toward it. And I find it annoying to be cursed, literally cursed up one side and down the other, for saying so. That builds no coalitions. Just saying.
Makes me wonder how these “Bernie Bro Reps” are going to react once back in congress. Maybe they will partake of some humble pie? Maybe some respect paid to Pelosi and the powers that be in the house majority? Will be interesting.
I was happy to see the Squad again and get their take on Super Tuesday. I had followed a lot of their activities in and out of Washington/Congress. But, damned if they didn’t let some of the old Bernie out, with a dig at ____________________

["People who mislead their followers can have rationales for doing so.
Or not.
But when they try their hand at producing robots of themselves…with the racism, ageism, sexism and overall obnoxious bullying that come with them. There is a line which has been crossed.
My daughter loves Warren, but has never endeavored to mimic her
And I sure CAN’T imitate Obama
Last I heard, it was supposed to be the efforts and policies offered by a public servant .
Mimicking boorishness and combativeness. That is what Sanders has produced…and from the looks of the thought processes involved in demonizing the very Party that they are using like a junkyard nag, I would say that Sanders mimics Trump:
