People haven’t forgotten Bernie. People haven’t forgotten how he ran on the Democratic ticket in 2016 while bashing the party that allowed him to do so because as an independent he would have never had the platform to do so. People remember how he agreeded to join the Democratic party once the 2016 election was over and give his supporters list to the Democratic party after the 2016 and he reneged on both. People hear him now disparaging the Democratic Party, calling the voters in South Carolina ‘establishment’ saying Biden ignored working- and middle-class voters… People of Color are working class. Those POC in the South have relatives in the Midwest and elsewhere who have read Bernie’s disparaging of them and it’s not a way to win friends and influence people. BS says he wants to burn the Democratic Party down so why would Democrats vote for him? Especially since he isn’t a Democratic.
Bernie can’t seem to move past 30% support and that’s not going to do. Bernie is not looking to the left or right to include people beyond his base. IMHO he’s a raving lunatic whose only goal is to get what he wants. This campaign is not different from the last one. He had a news conference this afternoon where all he did was complained, argued, and then complained some more.
A reporter asked him what he thought of Bloomberg’s withdrawal and endorsement of Biden.
Bernie blinked a couple of times, swallowed, and said, “He did?”
Apparently, Bernie is not keeping up with the news today.
When you entire focus is yourself you live in a bubble.
It is a moral imperative that the orange stain is removed from the White House so it and the country can be cleansed and sanitized.
My friend, the most enthusiastic Bernie supporter, can’t understand why the youngsters didn’t come out and play yesterday. Then he’s making the comment that the exit polling showed that Biden voters hadn’t made up their minds until they saw what happened in NC, so the plan is that they are “movable” therefore Bernie supporters need keep on keeping on.
Now if Bernie becomes the Democratic candidate I’ll vote for him, I just don’t want to be initiated into a cult. We’ve seen this story up close and personal.
Biden will come away from Super Tuesday with a 110-120 delegate lead. Then he runs into a series of states that are going to be very hard for him as (a) they are CLOSED primaries (e.g. PA, MD, CT, FL, NY),
Doesn’t the “HE” in the second sentence refer to Bernie?
The Squad could actually help move the Bernie supporters into the Vote Democratic Up and Down the Ballot column, if they choose to do so and Bernie himself pitches in with more exuberance than last time.
And they should, if they want to maintain their majority in the House and Bernie would like to caucus and vote with a Democratic majority in the Senate.
It’s the best way forward for all of them if it looks in a couple of weeks like Biden has it locked up.
What I found interesting is that Bernie’s margin of victory in Vermont was smaller than it was in 2016 - and Biden actually picked up a few delegates there. When the enthusiasm of your own state is waning, that’s not a good sign.
This very morning, I read a friend’s comment saying the status quo is the problem, and including Biden and the current president in said status quo. Also that they would be voting Green Party. Sigh.
