Will the squad’s flame burn as bright without the darkness of Trump?
What does the “egregious scandal” refer to?
Yes, this thing is done.
Biden will come away from Super Tuesday with a 90-100 delegate lead. Then Bernie runs into a series of states that are going to be very hard for Bernie as (a) they are CLOSED primaries (e.g. PA, MD, CT, FL, NY), (b) have a much lower level of progressives and young Mexican Hispanics (the groups Bernie does well with), (b) have older electorates, and/or are states where his bear hug of Castro and Communist countries will not go over well.
The problem is made worse by some states (WA is the key one) going to primaries from caucuses. And Bloombergs vote is going 100% to Biden, not all of Warren’s (smaller) share will go to Bernie.
Biden will slowly pick up more and delegates, going up by big jumps when some states (PA, FL, IL) vote.
Bernie needed to have a 200 delete lead and two moderates splitting the vote, or have that lead and it be him vs. Bloomberg. Neither happened, and it is all over, except the charges of “rigged” from Bernie and Trump.
P.s. correcting my reference and wanted to add Bernie’s vote share in the major remaining states:
OR 56%
WI 56%
IN 52%
MI 49%
MO 49%
IL 48%
NM 48%
WA (primary, he got 72% in the caucus) 47%
CT 46%
KY 46%
PA 43%
NY 41
AZ 41%
FL 33%
MD 33%
GA 28%
LA 23%
MS 16%
And while these numbers will not do it for Bernie, Bernie is underperforming his vote share by a lot so far this year.
It is over…
It will be even harder for Bernie Sanders now. The Dem establishment will demand that he suspend his campaign, and even if he does they will blame Bernie if Biden loses to Trump in November, which is likely if he is the nominee.
Which is sad, because AOC does a fantastic job during hearings, etc. Frankly, I have zero problem with them supporting Bernie till the end and advocating for more progressive policy. It’s if/when they start going down that Bernie personality cult rabbit hole that I think there’s a problem. As long as they’re not spewing nonsense about conspiracies to rig everything or going bonkers trying to damage Biden for the general, as if they can get him so good that the “electability” argument completely shifts in their favor, then it’s mostly all good.
Excuse me but I have acquired all the white boards in the US. If Bernie and his campaign needs some then we’ll have to talk. I’m not depriving him, so much as I’m stock piling them for after 11/03/2020 and the myriad of Trump investigations will get under way.
Now if the coronavirus has been dealt with before then, then there’ll be no problem because manufacturing will ramp up.
They are right of course. It’s not over yet. I think Bernie was counting on California and Texas to put him in a 100+ pledged delegate lead after yesterday. Heck…last Friday that was probably a reasonable strategy. He was so confident that he decided to campaign in MA last Friday and Saturday. Joe spent Sunday night and all day Monday in Texas. Anyone know where Bernie was Sunday and Monday?
I am reminded of Megan Kelly to Rove in November 2012: Is this just math or is this something you Republicans do to make yourselves feel better.
Um, wrong, we’ll blame Bernie if most of his supporters sit home again, because they wouldn’t support the nominee of the party Bernie was running in.
Remember, grasshopper, Biden as an opponent terrifies Trump. OTOH Trump loves Bernie as an opponent…
“Give it time. The peasants will flock to our banner!”
From what I have read most of our country is middle of the road.
AOC and Jayapal bless you and the Districts you represent but you do not represent the nation.
It’s important for the left to keep pushing and trying to make inroads as long as its done honestly, realistically and with the recognition that compromise and forming a coalition is the only way for any of us to win.
Since the Youth Vote tends to sit home anyhow, this is just the excuse they need to justify it in advance.
I hear Bernie had a ‘whine and cheese’ presser. Well, at least his fans are less likely to spin Super Tuesday as a win.
Just like his 60 Minutes interview where he committed political Hari Kari and had his Dean Scream moment, Bernie’s bitter attacks will fuel more consolidation to Biden. This race will effectively be over by the end of March. He will stay in through the convention but it won’t matter. Today was the first time we could look at the general election and voters will be eager to end this race quickly.
And how greasing the skids for a Donnie re-election by withholding a butt-hurt DEM vote helps the “revolution” is something I’ll never ever understand.
That’s just what Trump wants you to think with his super complicated mental jujitsu! He’s playing 4 dimensional chess while you’re playing checkers and giving him exactly what he wants! /s
You could be right, I keep losing to myself playing solitaire…
Henry Olsen at the Washington Post (one of their pro-Trump columnists) is also going after Warren.
Olsen spin: “Warren could have […] dropped out on Tuesday, endorsing Sanders* - “she persisted” too long.
The movie Lawrence of Arabia isn’t done once the opening credits roll, but I know how the movie will play out anyway as I have seen it before, and it is always the same every time I watch it.
Put a (D) after your name, Bernie. Should have done it 4 years ago, or 40.
