There are many WH employees who are long-term staff, who work there regardless of who is President. And those people will stay on, as they should. They staff the house, not the administration. But I do agree that they should close the house for 2 weeks, and let all of those people take a paid 2-week quarantine, while President Biden and VP Harris run the country from some other location, a location that could be sterilized and prepared ahead of time. There’s simply no reason to take chances when the current occupants have proven over and over again that they cannot be trusted.
I agree. Completely. Those people need to be protected, and they need to return to the safest environment possible. They can look forward to a much healthier place, physically, and mentally…
No they did not. They linked to a PR piece that was saying mostly useful things, but handwaving over whether wearing a cloth mask protects the wearer. Now, while I am in favor of everyone wearing some kind of mask (except the vented ones), because mutual mask wearing is a huge factor in reducing virus spread that we all can do, the notion that you can go into an indoor room for an hour with your mask on amongst a hundred unmasked people and not be subject to severe risk, is nonsense.
You do realize that this is essentially the same argument that’s been used against bicycle helmets, seatbelts, and even pedestrian crosswalks: “False sense of security”.
Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good here. You couldn’t buy an N95 for love nor money this spring. Even now, good luck. The public is smarter than you think about this. They just don’t have a lot of choice.
Sure it is. But it’s also nonsense that wearing a mask does nothing for the wearer.
