Oh MSNBC is not exempt. I don’t really watch any of the main networks on TV. I occasionally catch clips of Maddow on YouTube, but I’m not like some friends I know who watch MSNBC morning till night and bitch about most of the pundits.
Whoever compromises on journalistic ethics deserves disdain.
The real problem with most journalists is they are a herd. One person writes a story and within minutes 50 people have published “me too” stories. All that brain power wasted on writing duplicate stories instead of tracking down something, anything, new.
It seems to me that if you are engaged in a competition to win the votes of the American people, that all of your actions should be based on the question of what will get me more votes of the American people. Generally, this is how ambitious people work. They identify the steps they need to take, and then they take them. They keep quiet on issues that might harm them, and talk about issues that might help them.
Donald Trump isn’t doing these things. I think an argument can be made that he did those things, to a certain degree, in 2016. Right now, rather than acting like a politician, he is acting the way that a child or someone with poor executive function and emotional control would behave.
This all comes down to a post which conveys his contempt for Taylor Swift. There is no way that this post will convince anyone to vote for him. It doesn’t even really speak to his fans. All it does is voice his own emotional pain, emotional pain that he should keep to the journal in the therapist office, not the campaign trail.
The thing is we all see it too. This is why Trump is going to lose. He’s angry and bitter, hurt and confused. These are not the actions of people who are motivated to go to the polls, these are the actions of someone who doesn’t want to leave the bed.
I would go farther and say that once some bigshot makes a decision others are prevented from going against it no matter how wrong in fear of making the bigshot look wrong.
For example, every time Rachel Maddow discusses the 2000 election she says “George W Bush’s victory over Al Gore” knowing full well Bush lost the election. She does it because MSNBC being owned by NBC would likely fire her for telling the truth.
Once a few bigshots give their view of a story, nobody seems permitted to give a different view no matter how wrong are the bigshots
Gore won the popular vote. (Barely)
Bush, with the help of the SCOTUS and the Sainted Founding Fathers and their device of the Electoral College, won the election.

I’ll split the difference. Bush won the selection.
Do Republicans realize that in most suburban settings in the midwest, geese are considered pests. They are over wintering on local ponds quite well as global warming continues to move on.
When I was working just off the St. Louis airport, our office complex had a series of ponds, which the local geese tended to like.
My desk window looked out side to one of these ponds. One morning, there was an older gent with a border collie, who ran around that pond chasing the geese away.
Turned out the complex hired the man and his dog to clear out the geese because of the proximity to the airport. The pup was really something.
